  • Ezekiel 10:19 - The cherubim spread their wings, and they rose up from the earth while I watched (when they went the wheels went alongside them). They stopped at the entrance to the east gate of the Lord’s temple as the glory of the God of Israel hovered above them.
  • Hosea 9:12 - Even if they raise their children, I will take away every last one of them. Woe to them! For I will turn away from them.
  • Matthew 21:23 - Now after Jesus entered the temple courts, the chief priests and elders of the people came up to him as he was teaching and said, “By what authority are you doing these things, and who gave you this authority?”
  • Ezekiel 8:6 - He said to me, “Son of man, do you see what they are doing – the great abominations that the people of Israel are practicing here, to drive me far from my sanctuary? But you will see greater abominations than these!”
  • Jeremiah 6:8 - So take warning, Jerusalem, or I will abandon you in disgust and make you desolate, a place where no one can live.”
  • John 2:20 - Then the Jewish leaders said to him, “This temple has been under construction for forty-six years, and are you going to raise it up in three days?”
  • Luke 21:5 - Now while some were speaking about the temple, how it was adorned with beautiful stones and offerings, Jesus said,
  • Luke 21:6 - “As for these things that you are gazing at, the days will come when not one stone will be left on another. All will be torn down!”
  • Luke 21:7 - So they asked him, “Teacher, when will these things happen? And what will be the sign that these things are about to take place?”
  • Luke 21:8 - He said, “Watch out that you are not misled. For many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am he,’ and, ‘The time is near.’ Do not follow them!
  • Luke 21:9 - And when you hear of wars and rebellions, do not be afraid. For these things must happen first, but the end will not come at once.”
  • Luke 21:10 - Then he said to them, “Nation will rise up in arms against nation, and kingdom against kingdom.
  • Luke 21:11 - There will be great earthquakes, and famines and plagues in various places, and there will be terrifying sights and great signs from heaven.
  • Luke 21:12 - But before all this, they will seize you and persecute you, handing you over to the synagogues and prisons. You will be brought before kings and governors because of my name.
  • Luke 21:13 - This will be a time for you to serve as witnesses.
  • Luke 21:14 - Therefore be resolved not to rehearse ahead of time how to make your defense.
  • Luke 21:15 - For I will give you the words along with the wisdom that none of your adversaries will be able to withstand or contradict.
  • Luke 21:16 - You will be betrayed even by parents, brothers, relatives, and friends, and they will have some of you put to death.
  • Luke 21:17 - You will be hated by everyone because of my name.
  • Luke 21:18 - Yet not a hair of your head will perish.
  • Luke 21:19 - By your endurance you will gain your lives.
  • Luke 21:20 - “But when you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then know that its desolation has come near.
  • Luke 21:21 - Then those who are in Judea must flee to the mountains. Those who are inside the city must depart. Those who are out in the country must not enter it,
  • Luke 21:22 - because these are days of vengeance, to fulfill all that is written.
  • Luke 21:23 - Woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing their babies in those days! For there will be great distress on the earth and wrath against this people.
  • Luke 21:24 - They will fall by the edge of the sword and be led away as captives among all nations. Jerusalem will be trampled down by the Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.
  • Luke 21:25 - “And there will be signs in the sun and moon and stars, and on the earth nations will be in distress, anxious over the roaring of the sea and the surging waves.
  • Luke 21:26 - People will be fainting from fear and from the expectation of what is coming on the world, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken.
  • Luke 21:27 - Then they will see the Son of Man arriving in a cloud with power and great glory.
  • Luke 21:28 - But when these things begin to happen, stand up and raise your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.”
  • Luke 21:29 - Then he told them a parable: “Look at the fig tree and all the other trees.
  • Luke 21:30 - When they sprout leaves, you see for yourselves and know that summer is now near.
  • Luke 21:31 - So also you, when you see these things happening, know that the kingdom of God is near.
  • Luke 21:32 - I tell you the truth, this generation will not pass away until all these things take place.
  • Luke 21:33 - Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.
  • Luke 21:34 - “But be on your guard so that your hearts are not weighed down with dissipation and drunkenness and the worries of this life, and that day close down upon you suddenly like a trap.
  • Luke 21:35 - For it will overtake all who live on the face of the whole earth.
  • Luke 21:36 - But stay alert at all times, praying that you may have strength to escape all these things that must happen, and to stand before the Son of Man.”
  • Matthew 23:39 - For I tell you, you will not see me from now until you say, ‘Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord!’”
  • Mark 13:1 - Now as Jesus was going out of the temple courts, one of his disciples said to him, “Teacher, look at these tremendous stones and buildings!”
  • Mark 13:2 - Jesus said to him, “Do you see these great buildings? Not one stone will be left on another. All will be torn down!”
  • Mark 13:3 - So while he was sitting on the Mount of Olives opposite the temple, Peter, James, John, and Andrew asked him privately,
  • Mark 13:4 - “Tell us, when will these things happen? And what will be the sign that all these things are about to take place?”
  • Mark 13:5 - Jesus began to say to them, “Watch out that no one misleads you.
  • Mark 13:6 - Many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am he,’ and they will mislead many.
  • Mark 13:7 - When you hear of wars and rumors of wars, do not be alarmed. These things must happen, but the end is still to come.
  • Mark 13:8 - For nation will rise up in arms against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be earthquakes in various places, and there will be famines. These are but the beginning of birth pains.
  • Mark 13:9 - “You must watch out for yourselves. You will be handed over to councils and beaten in the synagogues. You will stand before governors and kings because of me, as a witness to them.
  • Mark 13:10 - First the gospel must be preached to all nations.
  • Mark 13:11 - When they arrest you and hand you over for trial, do not worry about what to speak. But say whatever is given you at that time, for it is not you speaking, but the Holy Spirit.
  • Mark 13:12 - Brother will hand over brother to death, and a father his child. Children will rise against parents and have them put to death.
  • Mark 13:13 - You will be hated by everyone because of my name. But the one who endures to the end will be saved.
  • Mark 13:14 - “But when you see the abomination of desolation standing where it should not be (let the reader understand), then those in Judea must flee to the mountains.
  • Mark 13:15 - The one on the roof must not come down or go inside to take anything out of his house.
  • Mark 13:16 - The one in the field must not turn back to get his cloak.
  • Mark 13:17 - Woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing their babies in those days!
  • Mark 13:18 - Pray that it may not be in winter.
  • Mark 13:19 - For in those days there will be suffering unlike anything that has happened from the beginning of the creation that God created until now, or ever will happen.
  • Mark 13:20 - And if the Lord had not cut short those days, no one would be saved. But because of the elect, whom he chose, he has cut them short.
  • Mark 13:21 - Then if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or ‘Look, there he is!’ do not believe him.
  • Mark 13:22 - For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, the elect.
  • Mark 13:23 - Be careful! I have told you everything ahead of time.
  • Mark 13:24 - “But in those days, after that suffering, the sun will be darkened and the moon will not give its light;
  • Mark 13:25 - the stars will be falling from heaven, and the powers in the heavens will be shaken.
  • Mark 13:26 - Then everyone will see the Son of Man arriving in the clouds with great power and glory.
  • Mark 13:27 - Then he will send angels and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from the ends of the earth to the ends of heaven.
  • Mark 13:28 - “Learn this parable from the fig tree: Whenever its branch becomes tender and puts out its leaves, you know that summer is near.
  • Mark 13:29 - So also you, when you see these things happening, know that he is near, right at the door.
  • Mark 13:30 - I tell you the truth, this generation will not pass away until all these things take place.
  • Mark 13:31 - Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.
  • Mark 13:32 - “But as for that day or hour no one knows it – neither the angels in heaven, nor the Son – except the Father.
  • Mark 13:33 - Watch out! Stay alert! For you do not know when the time will come.
  • Mark 13:34 - It is like a man going on a journey. He left his house and put his slaves in charge, assigning to each his work, and commanded the doorkeeper to stay alert.
  • Mark 13:35 - Stay alert, then, because you do not know when the owner of the house will return – whether during evening, at midnight, when the rooster crows, or at dawn –
  • Mark 13:36 - or else he might find you asleep when he returns suddenly.
  • Mark 13:37 - What I say to you I say to everyone: Stay alert!”
