  • Ezekiel 24:21 - ‘Speak to the house of Israel, “Thus says the Lord God, ‘Behold, I will profane My sanctuary, the pride of your strength, the desire of your eyes, and the delight of your soul; and your sons and your daughters whom you have left behind [in Jerusalem] will fall by the sword.
  • Acts 6:14 - for we have heard him say that this Jesus the Nazarene will tear down this place and will change the traditions and customs which Moses handed down to us.”
  • 2 Chronicles 36:19 - Then they burned the house of God and tore down the wall of Jerusalem, and burned all its fortified buildings with fire, and destroyed all its valuable articles.

  • Psalms 74:8 - They said in their heart, “Let us completely subdue them.” They have burned all the meeting places of God in the land.
  • Jeremiah 26:6 - then I will make this house [the temple] like Shiloh, and I will make this city [subject to] the curse of all nations of the earth [because it will be so vile in their sight].” ’ ”
  • Jeremiah 52:13 - He burned down the house of the Lord and the king’s palace and all the houses of Jerusalem; every great house or important structure he set on fire.

  • 2 Kings 25:8 - On the seventh day of the fifth month in the nineteenth year of King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon, Nebuzaradan, captain of the bodyguard, a servant of the king of Babylon, came to Jerusalem.
  • 2 Kings 25:9 - He burned the house (temple) of the Lord, the king’s house, and all the houses of Jerusalem; every great house he burned down.
  • 2 Kings 25:10 - All the army of the Chaldeans (Babylonians) who were with the captain of the bodyguard tore down the walls around Jerusalem.
  • Isaiah 1:11 - “What are your multiplied sacrifices to Me [without your repentance]?” Says the Lord. “I have had enough of [your] burnt offerings of rams And the fat of well-fed cattle [without your obedience]; And I take no pleasure in the blood of bulls or lambs or goats [offered without repentance].
  • Isaiah 1:12 - When you come to appear before Me, Who requires this of you, this trampling of My [temple] courts [by your sinful feet]?
  • Isaiah 1:13 - Do not bring worthless offerings again, [Your] incense is repulsive to Me; [Your] New Moon and Sabbath [observances], the calling of assemblies— I cannot endure wickedness [your sin, your injustice, your wrongdoing] and [the squalor of] the festive assembly.
  • Isaiah 1:14 - I hate [the hypocrisy of] your New Moon festivals and your appointed feasts. They have become a burden to Me; I am weary of bearing them.
  • Nehemiah 2:3 - and I said to the king, “Let the king live forever. Why should my face not be sad when the city, the place of my fathers’ tombs, lies desolate and its gates have been consumed by fire?”
