  • Isaiah 16:9 - So I join with Jazer to weep for the vines of Sibmah; I drench Heshbon and Elealeh with my tears. Triumphant shouts have fallen silent over your summer fruit and your harvest.
  • Isaiah 16:10 - Joy and rejoicing have been removed from the orchard; no one is singing or shouting for joy in the vineyards. No one tramples grapes in the winepresses. I have put an end to the shouting.
  • Joel 1:16 - Hasn’t the food been cut off before our eyes, joy and gladness from the house of our God?
  • Isaiah 32:9 - Stand up, you complacent women; listen to me. Pay attention to what I say, you overconfident daughters.

  • Isaiah 32:14 - For the palace will be deserted, the busy city abandoned. The hill and the watchtower will become barren places forever, the joy of wild donkeys, and a pasture for flocks,
  • Revelation 18:22 - The sound of harpists, musicians, flutists, and trumpeters will never be heard in you again; no craftsman of any trade will ever be found in you again; the sound of a mill will never be heard in you again;
  • Revelation 18:23 - the light of a lamp will never shine in you again; and the voice of a groom and bride will never be heard in you again. All this will happen because your merchants were the nobility of the earth, because all the nations were deceived by your sorcery.
  • Isaiah 24:7 - The new wine mourns; the vine withers. All the carousers now groan.
  • Isaiah 24:8 - The joyful tambourines have ceased. The noise of the jubilant has stopped. The joyful lyre has ceased.
  • Isaiah 24:9 - They no longer sing and drink wine; beer is bitter to those who drink it.
  • Isaiah 24:10 - The city of chaos is shattered; every house is closed to entry.
  • Isaiah 24:11 - In the streets they cry for wine. All joy grows dark; earth’s rejoicing goes into exile.
  • Isaiah 24:12 - Only desolation remains in the city; its gate has collapsed in ruins.
  • Joel 1:12 - The grapevine is dried up, and the fig tree is withered; the pomegranate, the date palm, and the apple  — all the trees of the orchard — have withered. Indeed, human joy has dried up.
  • Joel 1:13 - Dress in sackcloth and lament, you priests; wail, you ministers of the altar. Come and spend the night in sackcloth, you ministers of my God, because grain and drink offerings are withheld from the house of your God.
  • Haggai 2:16 - what state were you in? When someone came to a grain heap of twenty measures, it only amounted to ten; when one came to the winepress to dip fifty measures from the vat, it only amounted to twenty.
  • Isaiah 5:10 - For a ten-acre vineyard will yield only six gallons of wine, and ten bushels of seed will yield only one bushel of grain.
