  • Ezekiel 14:21 - “For this is what the Lord God says: How much worse will it be when I send my four devastating judgments against Jerusalem — sword, famine, dangerous animals, and plague — in order to wipe out both people and animals from it!
  • Jeremiah 43:11 - He will come and strike down the land of Egypt  — those destined for death, to death; those destined for captivity, to captivity; and those destined for the sword, to the sword.
  • Jeremiah 24:1 - After King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon had deported Jeconiah son of Jehoiakim king of Judah, the officials of Judah, and the craftsmen and metalsmiths from Jerusalem and had brought them to Babylon, the Lord showed me two baskets of figs placed in front of the temple of the Lord.
  • Jeremiah 24:2 - One basket contained very good figs, like early figs, but the other basket contained very bad figs, so bad they were inedible.
  • Jeremiah 24:3 - The Lord said to me, “What do you see, Jeremiah?” I said, “Figs! The good figs are very good, but the bad figs are extremely bad, so bad they are inedible.”
  • Luke 21:23 - Woe to pregnant women and nursing mothers in those days, for there will be great distress in the land and wrath against this people.

  • Jeremiah 34:18 - As for those who disobeyed my covenant, not keeping the terms of the covenant they made before me, I will treat them like the calf they cut in two in order to pass between its pieces.
  • Jeremiah 34:19 - The officials of Judah and Jerusalem, the court officials, the priests, and all the people of the land who passed between the pieces of the calf —
  • Jeremiah 34:20 - all these I will hand over to their enemies, to those who intend to take their life. Their corpses will become food for the birds of the sky and for the wild animals of the land.
  • Jeremiah 34:21 - I will hand King Zedekiah of Judah and his officials over to their enemies, to those who intend to take their lives, to the king of Babylon’s army that is withdrawing.
  • Jeremiah 34:22 - I am about to give the command — this is the Lord’s declaration — and I will bring them back to this city. They will fight against it, capture it, and burn it. I will make Judah’s cities a desolation, without inhabitant.”
  • Jeremiah 52:6 - By the ninth day of the fourth month the famine was so severe in the city that the common people had no food.
  • Jeremiah 15:2 - If they ask you, ‘Where will we go? ’ tell them: This is what the Lord says: Those destined for death, to death; those destined for the sword, to the sword. Those destined for famine, to famine; those destined for captivity, to captivity.
  • Jeremiah 15:3 - “I will ordain four kinds of judgment for them” — this is the Lord’s declaration — “the sword to kill, the dogs to drag away, and the birds of the sky and the wild animals of the land to devour and destroy.

  • Ezekiel 5:16 - When I shoot deadly arrows of famine at them, arrows for destruction that I will send to destroy you, inhabitants of Jerusalem, I will intensify the famine against you and cut off your supply of bread.
  • Ezekiel 5:17 - I will send famine and dangerous animals against you. They will leave you childless. Plague and bloodshed will sweep through you, and I will bring a sword against you. I, the Lord, have spoken.”
  • Jeremiah 29:18 - I will pursue them with sword, famine, and plague. I will make them a horror to all the kingdoms of the earth — a curse and a desolation, an object of scorn and a disgrace among all the nations where I have banished them.
  • Jeremiah 24:8 - “But as for the bad figs, so bad they are inedible, this is what the Lord says: In this way I will deal with King Zedekiah of Judah, his officials, and the remnant of Jerusalem — those remaining in this land or living in the land of Egypt.
  • Jeremiah 24:9 - I will make them an object of horror and a disaster to all the kingdoms of the earth, an example for disgrace, scorn, ridicule, and cursing, wherever I have banished them.
  • Jeremiah 24:10 - I will send the sword, famine, and plague against them until they have perished from the land I gave to them and their ancestors.”
