  • Jeremiah 11:14 - “Jeremiah, do not pray for these people. Do not make any appeal or request for them. They will call out to me when they are in trouble. But I will not listen to them.

  • Genesis 18:22 - The men turned away and went toward Sodom. But Abraham remained standing in front of the Lord.

  • Genesis 18:26 - The Lord said, “If I find 50 godly people in the city of Sodom, I will spare it. I will spare the whole place because of them.”
  • Genesis 18:27 - Then Abraham spoke up again. He said, “I have been very bold to speak to the Lord. After all, I’m only dust and ashes.
  • Genesis 18:28 - What if the number of godly people is five fewer than 50? Will you destroy the whole city because there are five fewer people?” “If I find 45 there,” he said, “I will not destroy it.”
  • Genesis 18:29 - Once again Abraham spoke to him. He asked, “What if only 40 are found there?” He said, “If there are 40, I will not do it.”
  • Genesis 18:30 - Then Abraham said, “Lord, please don’t be angry with me. Let me speak. What if only 30 can be found there?” He answered, “If I find 30, I will not do it.”
  • Genesis 18:31 - Abraham said, “I have been very bold to speak to the Lord. What if only 20 can be found there?” He said, “If I find 20, I will not destroy it.”
  • Genesis 18:32 - Then he said, “Lord, please don’t be angry with me. Let me speak just one more time. What if only ten can be found there?” He answered, “If I find ten, I will not destroy it.”
  • Jeremiah 14:7 - Lord, our sins are a witness against us. But do something for the honor of your name. We have often turned away from you. We’ve sinned against you.
  • Jeremiah 14:8 - You are Israel’s only hope. You save us when we’re in trouble. Why are you like a stranger to us? Why are you like a traveler who stays for only one night?
  • Jeremiah 14:9 - Why are you like a man taken by surprise? Why are you like a soldier who can’t save anyone? Lord, you are among us. And we are your people. Please don’t desert us!
  • Jeremiah 14:10 - The Lord gave Jeremiah a message about these people. The Lord said, “They really love to wander away from me. Their feet go down the wrong path. I do not accept these people. I will remember the evil things they have done. I will punish them for their sins.”
  • Jeremiah 14:11 - The Lord continued, “Do not pray that things will go well with them.
  • John 10:32 - But Jesus said to them, “I have shown you many good works from the Father. Which good work are you throwing stones at me for?”
  • Jeremiah 18:22 - Bring their enemies against them without warning. Let cries be heard from their houses. They have dug a pit to capture me. They have hidden traps for my feet.

  • 1 Samuel 24:18 - You have just now told me about the good things you did to me. The Lord handed me over to you. But you didn’t kill me.
  • 1 Samuel 24:19 - Suppose a man finds his enemy. He doesn’t let him get away without harming him. May the Lord reward you with many good things. May he do it because of the way you treated me today.
  • Psalm 35:12 - They pay me back with evil, even though I was good to them. They leave me like someone who has lost a family member.
  • Psalm 106:23 - So he said he would destroy them. But Moses, his chosen one, stood up for them. He kept God’s anger from destroying them.
  • Psalm 57:6 - My enemies spread a net to catch me by the feet. I felt helpless. They dug a pit in my path. But they fell into it themselves.
  • Psalm 35:7 - They set a trap for me without any reason. Without any reason they dug a pit to catch me.
