Lamentations 1:2 - She weeps bitterly in the night, with tears on her cheeks; among all her lovers she has none to comfort her; all her friends have dealt treacherously with her; they have become her enemies.
Lamentations 1:3 - Judah has gone into exile because of affliction and hard servitude; she dwells now among the nations, but finds no resting place; her pursuers have all overtaken her in the midst of her distress.
Lamentations 1:4 - The roads to Zion mourn, for none come to the festival; all her gates are desolate; her priests groan; her virgins have been afflicted, and she herself suffers bitterly.
Lamentations 1:5 - Her foes have become the head; her enemies prosper, because the Lord has afflicted her for the multitude of her transgressions; her children have gone away, captives before the foe.
Lamentations 1:6 - From the daughter of Zion all her majesty has departed. Her princes have become like deer that find no pasture; they fled without strength before the pursuer.
Lamentations 1:7 - Jerusalem remembers in the days of her affliction and wandering all the precious things that were hers from days of old. When her people fell into the hand of the foe, and there was none to help her, her foes gloated over her; they mocked at her downfall.
Lamentations 1:8 - Jerusalem sinned grievously; therefore she became filthy; all who honored her despise her, for they have seen her nakedness; she herself groans and turns her face away.
Lamentations 1:9 - Her uncleanness was in her skirts; she took no thought of her future; therefore her fall is terrible; she has no comforter. “O Lord, behold my affliction, for the enemy has triumphed!”
Genesis 11:7 - Come, let us go down and there confuse their language, so that they may not understand one another’s speech.”
Lamentations 4:12 - The kings of the earth did not believe, nor any of the inhabitants of the world, that foe or enemy could enter the gates of Jerusalem.
Isaiah 27:10 - For the fortified city is solitary, a habitation deserted and forsaken, like the wilderness; there the calf grazes; there it lies down and strips its branches.
Isaiah 27:11 - When its boughs are dry, they are broken; women come and make a fire of them. For this is a people without discernment; therefore he who made them will not have compassion on them; he who formed them will show them no favor.
Isaiah 25:10 - For the hand of the Lord will rest on this mountain, and Moab shall be trampled down in his place, as straw is trampled down in a dunghill.
Psalms 74:1 - O God, why do you cast us off forever? Why does your anger smoke against the sheep of your pasture?
Psalms 74:2 - Remember your congregation, which you have purchased of old, which you have redeemed to be the tribe of your heritage! Remember Mount Zion, where you have dwelt.
Psalms 74:3 - Direct your steps to the perpetual ruins; the enemy has destroyed everything in the sanctuary!
Psalms 74:4 - Your foes have roared in the midst of your meeting place; they set up their own signs for signs.
Psalms 74:5 - They were like those who swing axes in a forest of trees.
Psalms 74:6 - And all its carved wood they broke down with hatchets and hammers.
Psalms 74:7 - They set your sanctuary on fire; they profaned the dwelling place of your name, bringing it down to the ground.
Psalms 74:8 - They said to themselves, “We will utterly subdue them”; they burned all the meeting places of God in the land.
Psalms 74:9 - We do not see our signs; there is no longer any prophet, and there is none among us who knows how long.
Psalms 74:10 - How long, O God, is the foe to scoff? Is the enemy to revile your name forever?
Daniel 8:13 - Then I heard a holy one speaking, and another holy one said to the one who spoke, “For how long is the vision concerning the regular burnt offering, the transgression that makes desolate, and the giving over of the sanctuary and host to be trampled underfoot?”
Nehemiah 2:3 - I said to the king, “Let the king live forever! Why should not my face be sad, when the city, the place of my fathers’ graves, lies in ruins, and its gates have been destroyed by fire?”
2 Chronicles 36:4 - And the king of Egypt made Eliakim his brother king over Judah and Jerusalem, and changed his name to Jehoiakim. But Neco took Jehoahaz his brother and carried him to Egypt.

2 Chronicles 36:9 - Jehoiachin was eighteen years old when he became king, and he reigned three months and ten days in Jerusalem. He did what was evil in the sight of the Lord.
2 Chronicles 36:10 - In the spring of the year King Nebuchadnezzar sent and brought him to Babylon, with the precious vessels of the house of the Lord, and made his brother Zedekiah king over Judah and Jerusalem.
Genesis 11:4 - Then they said, “Come, let us build ourselves a city and a tower with its top in the heavens, and let us make a name for ourselves, lest we be dispersed over the face of the whole earth.”
Psalms 80:12 - Why then have you broken down its walls, so that all who pass along the way pluck its fruit?

Leviticus 26:31 - And I will lay your cities waste and will make your sanctuaries desolate, and I will not smell your pleasing aromas.
Leviticus 26:32 - And I myself will devastate the land, so that your enemies who settle in it shall be appalled at it.
Leviticus 26:33 - And I will scatter you among the nations, and I will unsheathe the sword after you, and your land shall be a desolation, and your cities shall be a waste.
Leviticus 26:34 - “Then the land shall enjoy its Sabbaths as long as it lies desolate, while you are in your enemies’ land; then the land shall rest, and enjoy its Sabbaths.
Leviticus 26:35 - As long as it lies desolate it shall have rest, the rest that it did not have on your Sabbaths when you were dwelling in it.
Revelation 11:2 - but do not measure the court outside the temple; leave that out, for it is given over to the nations, and they will trample the holy city for forty-two months.
Deuteronomy 28:49 - The Lord will bring a nation against you from far away, from the end of the earth, swooping down like the eagle, a nation whose language you do not understand,
Deuteronomy 28:50 - a hard-faced nation who shall not respect the old or show mercy to the young.
Deuteronomy 28:51 - It shall eat the offspring of your cattle and the fruit of your ground, until you are destroyed; it also shall not leave you grain, wine, or oil, the increase of your herds or the young of your flock, until they have caused you to perish.
Deuteronomy 28:52 - “They shall besiege you in all your towns, until your high and fortified walls, in which you trusted, come down throughout all your land. And they shall besiege you in all your towns throughout all your land, which the Lord your God has given you.
Isaiah 28:3 - The proud crown of the drunkards of Ephraim will be trodden underfoot;
Isaiah 10:6 - Against a godless nation I send him, and against the people of my wrath I command him, to take spoil and seize plunder, and to tread them down like the mire of the streets.
Isaiah 28:18 - Then your covenant with death will be annulled, and your agreement with Sheol will not stand; when the overwhelming scourge passes through, you will be beaten down by it.
Lamentations 1:15 - “The Lord rejected all my mighty men in my midst; he summoned an assembly against me to crush my young men; the Lord has trodden as in a winepress the virgin daughter of Judah.
Luke 21:24 - They will fall by the edge of the sword and be led captive among all nations, and Jerusalem will be trampled underfoot by the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.
