  • Micah 3:11 - Her leaders take bribes when they decide legal cases, her priests proclaim rulings for profit, and her prophets read omens for pay. Yet they claim to trust the Lord and say, “The Lord is among us. Disaster will not overtake us!”
  • Malachi 3:5 - “I will come to you in judgment. I will be quick to testify against those who practice divination, those who commit adultery, those who break promises, and those who exploit workers, widows, and orphans, who refuse to help the immigrant and in this way show they do not fear me,” says the Lord who rules over all.

  • Job 30:7 - They brayed like animals among the bushes and were huddled together under the nettles.
  • Job 30:8 - Sons of senseless and nameless people, they were driven out of the land with whips.
  • Job 30:9 - “And now I have become their taunt song; I have become a byword among them.
  • Job 30:10 - They detest me and maintain their distance; they do not hesitate to spit in my face.
  • Job 30:11 - Because God has untied my tent cord and afflicted me, people throw off all restraint in my presence.
  • Job 30:12 - On my right the young rabble rise up; they drive me from place to place, and build up siege ramps against me.
  • Ezekiel 22:12 - They take bribes within you to shed blood. You engage in usury and charge interest; you extort money from your neighbors. You have forgotten me, declares the sovereign Lord.
  • James 5:4 - Look, the pay you have held back from the workers who mowed your fields cries out against you, and the cries of the reapers have reached the ears of the Lord of hosts.
  • Isaiah 11:13 - Ephraim’s jealousy will end, and Judah’s hostility will be eliminated. Ephraim will no longer be jealous of Judah, and Judah will no longer be hostile toward Ephraim.

  • Jeremiah 9:6 - They do one act of violence after another, and one deceitful thing after another. They refuse to pay attention to me,” says the Lord.
  • Jeremiah 9:7 - Therefore the Lord who rules over all says, “I will now purify them in the fires of affliction and test them. The wickedness of my dear people has left me no choice. What else can I do?
  • Jeremiah 9:8 - Their tongues are like deadly arrows. They are always telling lies. Friendly words for their neighbors come from their mouths. But their minds are thinking up ways to trap them.
