  • Revelation 5:9 - And they sang a new song with these words: “You are worthy to take the scroll and break its seals and open it. For you were slaughtered, and your blood has ransomed people for God from every tribe and language and people and nation.
  • Acts of the Apostles 20:28 - “So guard yourselves and God’s people. Feed and shepherd God’s flock—his church, purchased with his own blood —over which the Holy Spirit has appointed you as leaders.

  • Leviticus 16:8 - He is to cast sacred lots to determine which goat will be reserved as an offering to the Lord and which will carry the sins of the people to the wilderness of Azazel.
  • Leviticus 16:9 - Aaron will then present as a sin offering the goat chosen by lot for the Lord.
  • Leviticus 16:10 - The other goat, the scapegoat chosen by lot to be sent away, will be kept alive, standing before the Lord. When it is sent away to Azazel in the wilderness, the people will be purified and made right with the Lord.
  • Hebrews 1:3 - The Son radiates God’s own glory and expresses the very character of God, and he sustains everything by the mighty power of his command. When he had cleansed us from our sins, he sat down in the place of honor at the right hand of the majestic God in heaven.
  • Hebrews 7:27 - Unlike those other high priests, he does not need to offer sacrifices every day. They did this for their own sins first and then for the sins of the people. But Jesus did this once for all when he offered himself as the sacrifice for the people’s sins.
  • Galatians 3:13 - But Christ has rescued us from the curse pronounced by the law. When he was hung on the cross, he took upon himself the curse for our wrongdoing. For it is written in the Scriptures, “Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree.”
  • Galatians 3:14 - Through Christ Jesus, God has blessed the Gentiles with the same blessing he promised to Abraham, so that we who are believers might receive the promised Holy Spirit through faith.
  • Revelation 1:5 - and from Jesus Christ. He is the faithful witness to these things, the first to rise from the dead, and the ruler of all the kings of the world. All glory to him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by shedding his blood for us.
  • Hebrews 9:28 - so also Christ was offered once for all time as a sacrifice to take away the sins of many people. He will come again, not to deal with our sins, but to bring salvation to all who are eagerly waiting for him.
  • Daniel 9:24 - “A period of seventy sets of seven has been decreed for your people and your holy city to finish their rebellion, to put an end to their sin, to atone for their guilt, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to confirm the prophetic vision, and to anoint the Most Holy Place.
  • Zechariah 3:9 - Now look at the jewel I have set before Jeshua, a single stone with seven facets. I will engrave an inscription on it, says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, and I will remove the sins of this land in a single day.
  • Hebrews 9:13 - Under the old system, the blood of goats and bulls and the ashes of a heifer could cleanse people’s bodies from ceremonial impurity.
  • 1 Thessalonians 1:10 - And they speak of how you are looking forward to the coming of God’s Son from heaven—Jesus, whom God raised from the dead. He is the one who has rescued us from the terrors of the coming judgment.
  • Hebrews 5:9 - In this way, God qualified him as a perfect High Priest, and he became the source of eternal salvation for all those who obey him.
  • Hebrews 9:24 - For Christ did not enter into a holy place made with human hands, which was only a copy of the true one in heaven. He entered into heaven itself to appear now before God on our behalf.
  • Hebrews 9:25 - And he did not enter heaven to offer himself again and again, like the high priest here on earth who enters the Most Holy Place year after year with the blood of an animal.
  • Hebrews 9:26 - If that had been necessary, Christ would have had to die again and again, ever since the world began. But now, once for all time, he has appeared at the end of the age to remove sin by his own death as a sacrifice.
  • Hebrews 10:9 - Then he said, “Look, I have come to do your will.” He cancels the first covenant in order to put the second into effect.
  • Hebrews 10:10 - For God’s will was for us to be made holy by the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ, once for all time.
  • Hebrews 10:11 - Under the old covenant, the priest stands and ministers before the altar day after day, offering the same sacrifices again and again, which can never take away sins.
  • Hebrews 10:12 - But our High Priest offered himself to God as a single sacrifice for sins, good for all time. Then he sat down in the place of honor at God’s right hand.
  • Hebrews 10:13 - There he waits until his enemies are humbled and made a footstool under his feet.
  • Hebrews 10:14 - For by that one offering he forever made perfect those who are being made holy.
  • Ephesians 1:7 - He is so rich in kindness and grace that he purchased our freedom with the blood of his Son and forgave our sins.
  • Hebrews 9:15 - That is why he is the one who mediates a new covenant between God and people, so that all who are called can receive the eternal inheritance God has promised them. For Christ died to set them free from the penalty of the sins they had committed under that first covenant.
  • 1 Peter 1:18 - For you know that God paid a ransom to save you from the empty life you inherited from your ancestors. And it was not paid with mere gold or silver, which lose their value.
  • 1 Peter 1:19 - It was the precious blood of Christ, the sinless, spotless Lamb of God.
  • Hebrews 10:4 - For it is not possible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins.
