  • 2 Samuel 21:16 - Now Ishbi-Benob, one of the descendants of Rapha, had a spear that weighed three hundred bronze shekels, and he was armed with a new weapon. He had said that he would kill David.

  • Judges 16:30 - Samson said, “Let me die with the Philistines!” He pushed hard and the temple collapsed on the rulers and all the people in it. He killed many more people in his death than he had killed during his life.
  • Job 5:20 - In time of famine he will redeem you from death, and in time of war from the power of the sword.
  • 1 Samuel 14:13 - Jonathan crawled up on his hands and feet, with his armor bearer following behind him. Jonathan struck down the Philistines, while his armor bearer came along behind him and killed them.
  • 1 Samuel 14:14 - In this initial skirmish Jonathan and his armor bearer struck down about twenty men in an area that measured half an acre.
  • 1 Samuel 14:15 - Then fear overwhelmed those who were in the camp, those who were in the field, all the army in the garrison, and the raiding bands. They trembled and the ground shook. This fear was caused by God.
  • 2 Chronicles 20:6 - He prayed: “O Lord God of our ancestors, you are the God who lives in heaven and rules over all the kingdoms of the nations. You possess strength and power; no one can stand against you.
  • 2 Chronicles 20:7 - Our God, you drove out the inhabitants of this land before your people Israel and gave it as a permanent possession to the descendants of your friend Abraham.
  • 2 Chronicles 20:8 - They settled down in it and built in it a temple to honor you, saying,
  • 2 Chronicles 20:9 - ‘If disaster comes on us in the form of military attack, judgment, plague, or famine, we will stand in front of this temple before you, for you are present in this temple. We will cry out to you for help in our distress, so that you will hear and deliver us.’
  • 2 Chronicles 20:10 - Now the Ammonites, Moabites, and men from Mount Seir are coming! When Israel came from the land of Egypt, you did not allow them to invade these lands. They bypassed them and did not destroy them.
  • 2 Chronicles 20:11 - Look how they are repaying us! They come to drive us out of our allotted land which you assigned to us!
  • 2 Chronicles 20:12 - Our God, will you not judge them? For we are powerless against this huge army that attacks us! We don’t know what we should do; we look to you for help.”
  • 2 Chronicles 20:13 - All the men of Judah were standing before the Lord, along with their infants, wives, and children.
  • 2 Chronicles 20:14 - Then in the midst of the assembly, the Lord’s Spirit came upon Jachaziel son of Zechariah, son of Benaiah, son of Jeiel, son of Mattaniah, a Levite and descendant of Asaph.
  • 2 Chronicles 20:15 - He said: “Pay attention, all you people of Judah, residents of Jerusalem, and King Jehoshaphat! This is what the Lord says to you: ‘Don’t be afraid and don’t panic because of this huge army! For the battle is not yours, but God’s.
  • 2 Chronicles 20:16 - Tomorrow march down against them as they come up the Ascent of Ziz. You will find them at the end of the ravine in front of the Desert of Jeruel.
  • 2 Chronicles 20:17 - You will not fight in this battle. Take your positions, stand, and watch the Lord deliver you, O Judah and Jerusalem. Don’t be afraid and don’t panic! Tomorrow march out toward them; the Lord is with you!’”
  • 2 Chronicles 20:18 - Jehoshaphat bowed down with his face toward the ground, and all the people of Judah and the residents of Jerusalem fell down before the Lord and worshiped him.
  • 2 Chronicles 20:19 - Then some Levites, from the Kohathites and Korahites, got up and loudly praised the Lord God of Israel.
  • 2 Chronicles 20:20 - Early the next morning they marched out to the Desert of Tekoa. When they were ready to march, Jehoshaphat stood up and said: “Listen to me, you people of Judah and residents of Jerusalem! Trust in the Lord your God and you will be safe! Trust in the message of his prophets and you will win.”
  • 2 Chronicles 20:21 - He met with the people and appointed musicians to play before the Lord and praise his majestic splendor. As they marched ahead of the warriors they said: “Give thanks to the Lord, for his loyal love endures.”
  • 2 Chronicles 20:22 - When they began to shout and praise, the Lord suddenly attacked the Ammonites, Moabites, and men from Mount Seir who were invading Judah, and they were defeated.
  • 2 Chronicles 20:23 - The Ammonites and Moabites attacked the men from Mount Seir and annihilated them. When they had finished off the men of Seir, they attacked and destroyed one another.
  • 2 Chronicles 20:24 - When the men of Judah arrived at the observation post overlooking the desert and looked at the huge army, they saw dead bodies on the ground; there were no survivors!
  • 2 Chronicles 20:25 - Jehoshaphat and his men went to gather the plunder; they found a huge amount of supplies, clothing and valuable items. They carried away everything they could. There was so much plunder, it took them three days to haul it off.
  • 2 Kings 20:7 - Isaiah ordered, “Get a fig cake.” So they did as he ordered and placed it on the ulcerated sore, and he recovered.
  • 2 Kings 20:8 - Hezekiah had said to Isaiah, “What is the confirming sign that the Lord will heal me and that I will go up to the Lord’s temple the day after tomorrow?”
  • 2 Kings 20:9 - Isaiah replied, “This is your sign from the Lord confirming that the Lord will do what he has said. Do you want the shadow to move ahead ten steps or to go back ten steps?”
  • 2 Kings 20:10 - Hezekiah answered, “It is easy for the shadow to lengthen ten steps, but not for it to go back ten steps.”
  • 2 Kings 20:11 - Isaiah the prophet called out to the Lord, and the Lord made the shadow go back ten steps on the stairs of Ahaz.
  • Psalms 66:12 - You allowed men to ride over our heads; we passed through fire and water, but you brought us out into a wide open place.
  • 2 Corinthians 12:9 - But he said to me, “My grace is enough for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” So then, I will boast most gladly about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may reside in me.
  • 2 Corinthians 12:10 - Therefore I am content with weaknesses, with insults, with troubles, with persecutions and difficulties for the sake of Christ, for whenever I am weak, then I am strong.
  • 2 Chronicles 32:20 - King Hezekiah and the prophet Isaiah son of Amoz prayed about this and cried out to heaven.
  • 2 Chronicles 32:21 - The Lord sent a messenger and he wiped out all the soldiers, princes, and officers in the army of the king of Assyria. So Sennacherib returned home humiliated. When he entered the temple of his god, some of his own sons struck him down with the sword.
  • 2 Chronicles 32:22 - The Lord delivered Hezekiah and the residents of Jerusalem from the power of King Sennacherib of Assyria and from all the other nations. He made them secure on every side.
  • 1 Peter 4:12 - Dear friends, do not be astonished that a trial by fire is occurring among you, as though something strange were happening to you.
  • 2 Samuel 21:16 - Now Ishbi-Benob, one of the descendants of Rapha, had a spear that weighed three hundred bronze shekels, and he was armed with a new weapon. He had said that he would kill David.
  • 2 Samuel 21:17 - But Abishai the son of Zeruiah came to David’s aid, striking the Philistine down and killing him. Then David’s men took an oath saying, “You will not go out to battle with us again! You must not extinguish the lamp of Israel!”
  • Isaiah 43:2 - When you pass through the waters, I am with you; when you pass through the streams, they will not overwhelm you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not harm you.
  • 2 Chronicles 14:11 - Asa prayed to the Lord his God: “O Lord, there is no one but you who can help the weak when they are vastly outnumbered. Help us, O Lord our God, for we rely on you and have marched on your behalf against this huge army. O Lord our God, don’t let men prevail against you!”
  • 2 Chronicles 14:12 - The Lord struck down the Cushites before Asa and Judah. The Cushites fled,
  • 2 Chronicles 14:13 - and Asa and his army chased them as far as Gerar. The Cushites were wiped out; they were shattered before the Lord and his army. The men of Judah carried off a huge amount of plunder.
  • 2 Chronicles 14:14 - They defeated all the cities surrounding Gerar, for the Lord caused them to panic. The men of Judah looted all the cities, for they contained a huge amount of goods.
  • 2 Chronicles 16:1 - In the thirty-sixth year of Asa’s reign, King Baasha of Israel attacked Judah, and he established Ramah as a military outpost to prevent anyone from leaving or entering the land of King Asa of Judah.
  • 2 Chronicles 16:2 - Asa took all the silver and gold that was left in the treasuries of the Lord’s temple and of the royal palace and sent it to King Ben Hadad of Syria, ruler in Damascus, along with this message:
  • 2 Chronicles 16:3 - “I want to make a treaty with you, like the one our fathers made. See, I have sent you silver and gold. Break your treaty with King Baasha of Israel, so he will retreat from my land.”
  • 2 Chronicles 16:4 - Ben Hadad accepted King Asa’s offer and ordered his army commanders to attack the cities of Israel. They conquered Ijon, Dan, Abel Maim, and all the storage cities of Naphtali.
  • 2 Chronicles 16:5 - When Baasha heard the news, he stopped fortifying Ramah and abandoned the project.
  • 2 Chronicles 16:6 - King Asa ordered all the men of Judah to carry away the stones and wood that Baasha had used to build Ramah. He used the materials to build up Geba and Mizpah.
  • 2 Chronicles 16:7 - At that time Hanani the prophet visited King Asa of Judah and said to him: “Because you relied on the king of Syria and did not rely on the Lord your God, the army of the king of Syria has escaped from your hand.
  • 2 Chronicles 16:8 - Did not the Cushites and Libyans have a huge army with chariots and a very large number of horsemen? But when you relied on the Lord, he handed them over to you!
  • 2 Chronicles 16:9 - Certainly the Lord watches the whole earth carefully and is ready to strengthen those who are devoted to him. You have acted foolishly in this matter; from now on you will have war.
  • 2 Kings 6:32 - Now Elisha was sitting in his house with the community leaders. The king sent a messenger on ahead, but before he arrived, Elisha said to the leaders, “Do you realize this assassin intends to cut off my head?” Look, when the messenger arrives, shut the door and lean against it. His master will certainly be right behind him.”
  • Judges 15:8 - He struck them down and defeated them. Then he went down and lived for a time in the cave in the cliff of Etam.
  • 1 Samuel 17:51 - David ran and stood over the Philistine. He grabbed Goliath’s sword, drew it from its sheath, killed him, and cut off his head with it. When the Philistines saw their champion was dead, they ran away.
  • 1 Samuel 17:52 - Then the men of Israel and Judah charged forward, shouting a battle cry. They chased the Philistines to the valley and to the very gates of Ekron. The Philistine corpses lay fallen along the Shaaraim road to Gath and Ekron.
  • 2 Samuel 10:15 - When the Arameans realized that they had been defeated by Israel, they consolidated their forces.
  • 2 Samuel 10:16 - Then Hadadezer sent for Arameans from beyond the Euphrates River, and they came to Helam. Shobach, the general in command of Hadadezer’s army, led them.
  • 2 Samuel 10:17 - When David was informed, he gathered all Israel, crossed the Jordan River, and came to Helam. The Arameans deployed their forces against David and fought with him.
  • 2 Samuel 10:18 - The Arameans fled before Israel. David killed 700 Aramean charioteers and 40,000 foot soldiers. He also struck down Shobach, the general in command of the army, who died there.
  • 2 Samuel 10:19 - When all the kings who were subject to Hadadezer saw they were defeated by Israel, they made peace with Israel and became subjects of Israel. The Arameans were no longer willing to help the Ammonites.
  • Judges 7:19 - Gideon took a hundred men to the edge of the camp at the beginning of the middle watch, just after they had changed the guards. They blew their trumpets and broke the jars they were carrying.
  • Judges 7:20 - All three units blew their trumpets and broke their jars. They held the torches in their left hand and the trumpets in their right. Then they yelled, “A sword for the Lord and for Gideon!”
  • Judges 7:21 - They stood in order all around the camp. The whole army ran away; they shouted as they scrambled away.
  • Judges 7:22 - When the three hundred men blew their trumpets, the Lord caused the Midianites to attack one another with their swords throughout the camp. The army fled to Beth Shittah on the way to Zererah. They went to the border of Abel Meholah near Tabbath.
  • Judges 7:23 - Israelites from Naphtali, Asher, and Manasseh answered the call and chased the Midianites.
  • Judges 7:24 - Now Gideon sent messengers throughout the Ephraimite hill country who announced, “Go down and head off the Midianites. Take control of the fords of the streams all the way to Beth Barah and the Jordan River.” When all the Ephraimites had assembled, they took control of the fords all the way to Beth Barah and the Jordan River.
  • Judges 7:25 - They captured the two Midianite generals, Oreb and Zeeb. They executed Oreb on the rock of Oreb and Zeeb in the winepress of Zeeb. They chased the Midianites and brought the heads of Oreb and Zeeb to Gideon, who was now on the other side of the Jordan River.
  • 2 Kings 6:16 - He replied, “Don’t be afraid, for our side outnumbers them.”
  • 2 Kings 6:17 - Then Elisha prayed, “O Lord, open his eyes so he can see.” The Lord opened the servant’s eyes and he saw that the hill was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.
  • 2 Kings 6:18 - As they approached him, Elisha prayed to the Lord, “Strike these people with blindness.” The Lord struck them with blindness as Elisha requested.
  • 1 Kings 19:3 - Elijah was afraid, so he got up and fled for his life to Beer Sheba in Judah. He left his servant there,
  • Psalms 144:10 - the one who delivers kings, and rescued David his servant from a deadly sword.
