- Genesis 49:13 - “Zebulun shall dwell at the seashore; And he shall be a haven (landing place) for ships, And his flank shall be toward Sidon.
- Genesis 49:14 - “Issachar is [like] a strong-boned donkey, Crouching down between the sheepfolds.
- Genesis 49:15 - When he saw that the resting place was good And that the land was pleasant, He bowed his shoulder to bear [burdens], And became a servant at forced labor.
- Genesis 49:16 - “Dan shall judge his people, As one of the tribes of Israel.
- Genesis 49:17 - Dan shall be a [venomous] serpent in the way, A fanged snake in the path, That bites the horse’s heels, So that his rider falls backward.

- Genesis 49:19 - “As for Gad—a raiding troop shall raid him, But he shall raid at their heels and assault them [victoriously].

- Genesis 49:21 - “Naphtali is a doe let loose, [a swift warrior,] Which yields branched antlers (eloquent words).
- Genesis 49:22 - “Joseph is a fruitful bough (a main branch of the vine), A fruitful bough by a spring (a well, a fountain); Its branches run over the wall [influencing others].
- Genesis 49:23 - The [skilled] archers have bitterly attacked and provoked him; They have shot [at him] and harassed him.
- Genesis 49:24 - But his bow remained firm and steady [in the Strength that does not fail], For his arms were made strong and agile By the hands of the Mighty One of Jacob, (By the name of the Shepherd, the Stone of Israel),
- Genesis 49:25 - By the God of your father who will help you, And by the Almighty who blesses you With blessings of the heavens above, Blessings lying in the deep that couches beneath, Blessings of the [nursing] breasts and of the [fertile] womb.

- 1 Chronicles 2:5 - The sons of Perez: Hezron and Hamul.
- 1 Chronicles 2:6 - The sons of Zerah: Zimri, Ethan, Heman, Calcol, and Dara—five in all.
- 1 Chronicles 2:7 - The son of Carmi: Achar, the troubler of Israel, who violated the ban [by taking things from Jericho that had been banned].
- 1 Chronicles 2:8 - The son of Ethan: Azariah.
- 1 Chronicles 2:9 - The sons of Hezron who were born to him: Jerahmeel, Ram, and Chelubai [that is, Caleb].
- 1 Chronicles 2:10 - Ram became the father of Amminadab, and Amminadab became the father of Nahshon, leader of the sons of Judah.
- 1 Chronicles 2:11 - Nahshon became the father of Salma, Salma became the father of Boaz,
- 1 Chronicles 2:12 - Boaz became the father of Obed, and Obed became the father of Jesse.
- 1 Chronicles 2:13 - Jesse became the father of Eliab his firstborn, Abinadab the second, Shimea the third,
- 1 Chronicles 2:14 - Nethanel the fourth, Raddai the fifth,
- 1 Chronicles 2:15 - Ozem the sixth, David the seventh.
- 1 Chronicles 2:16 - Their sisters were Zeruiah and Abigail. The sons of Zeruiah: Abishai, Joab, and Asahel, three.
- 1 Chronicles 2:17 - Abigail gave birth to Amasa, and the father of Amasa was Jether the Ishmaelite.
- 1 Chronicles 2:18 - And Caleb the son of Hezron had sons by his wife Azubah and by Jerioth. Azubah’s sons were: Jesher, Shobab, and Ardon.
- 1 Chronicles 2:19 - Azubah died, and Caleb married Ephrath, who bore him Hur.
- 1 Chronicles 2:20 - Hur became the father of Uri, and Uri became the father of Bezalel [the skillful craftsman who made the furnishings of the tabernacle].
- 1 Chronicles 2:21 - Later, when Hezron was sixty years old, he married the daughter of Machir the father of Gilead, and she bore him Segub.
- 1 Chronicles 2:22 - Segub became the father of Jair, who [later] had twenty-three cities in the land of Gilead.
- 1 Chronicles 2:23 - But Geshur and Aram took from them Havvoth-jair, with Kenath and its villages, sixty towns in all. All these were the sons (descendants) of Machir, the father of Gilead.
- 1 Chronicles 2:24 - After Hezron died in Caleb-ephrathah, Abijah, Hezron’s wife, bore him Ashhur the father of Tekoa.
- 1 Chronicles 2:25 - The sons of Jerahmeel the firstborn of Hezron: Ram the firstborn, Bunah, Oren, Ozem, and Ahijah.
- 1 Chronicles 2:26 - Jerahmeel had another wife, named Atarah; she was the mother of Onam.
- 1 Chronicles 2:27 - The sons of Ram the firstborn of Jerahmeel were: Maaz, Jamin, and Eker.
- 1 Chronicles 2:28 - The sons of Onam: Shammai and Jada. The sons of Shammai: Nadab and Abishur.
- 1 Chronicles 2:29 - The name of Abishur’s wife was Abihail; she bore him Ahban and Molid.
- 1 Chronicles 2:30 - The sons of Nadab: Seled and Appaim. Seled died childless.
- 1 Chronicles 2:31 - The son of Appaim: Ishi. The son of Ishi: Sheshan. The son of Sheshan: Ahlai.
- 1 Chronicles 2:32 - The sons of Jada the brother of Shammai: Jether and Jonathan. Jether died childless.
- 1 Chronicles 2:33 - The sons of Jonathan: Peleth and Zaza. These were the sons (descendants) of Jerahmeel.
- 1 Chronicles 2:34 - Sheshan had no sons—only daughters. But Sheshan had a servant, an Egyptian, whose name was Jarha.
- 1 Chronicles 2:35 - So Sheshan gave his daughter to Jarha his servant as a wife; she bore him Attai.
- 1 Chronicles 2:36 - Attai became the father of Nathan, and Nathan became the father of Zabad.
- 1 Chronicles 2:37 - Zabad became the father of Ephlal, and Ephlal became the father of Obed.
- 1 Chronicles 2:38 - Obed became the father of Jehu, and Jehu became the father of Azariah.
- 1 Chronicles 2:39 - Azariah became the father of Helez, and Helez became the father of Eleasah.
- 1 Chronicles 2:40 - Eleasah became the father of Sismai, and Sismai became the father of Shallum.
- 1 Chronicles 2:41 - Shallum became the father of Jekamiah, and Jekamiah became the father of Elishama.
- 1 Chronicles 2:42 - The sons of Caleb, the brother of Jerahmeel: Mesha his firstborn was the father of Ziph; and his son Mareshah was the father of Hebron.
- 1 Chronicles 2:43 - The sons of Hebron: Korah, Tappuah, Rekem, and Shema.
- 1 Chronicles 2:44 - Shema became the father of Raham, the father of Jorkeam. And Rekem became the father of Shammai.
- 1 Chronicles 2:45 - The son of Shammai was Maon; Maon became the father of Bethzur.
- 1 Chronicles 2:46 - Ephah, Caleb’s concubine, gave birth to Haran, Moza, and Gazez; Haran became the father of Gazez.
- 1 Chronicles 2:47 - The sons of Jahdai: Regem, Jotham, Geshan, Pelet, Ephah, and Shaaph.
- 1 Chronicles 2:48 - Maacah, Caleb’s concubine, gave birth to Sheber and Tirhanah.
- 1 Chronicles 2:49 - She also bore Shaaph the father of Madmannah and Sheva the father of Machbena and of Gibea; and the daughter of Caleb was Achsah.
- 1 Chronicles 2:50 - These were the sons (descendants) of Caleb. The sons of Hur, the firstborn of Ephrathah: Shobal the father of Kiriath-jearim,
- 1 Chronicles 2:51 - Salma the father of Bethlehem and Hareph the father of Beth-gader.
- 1 Chronicles 2:52 - Shobal the father of Kiriath-jearim had [other] sons (descendants): Haroeh, half of the Manahathites [in Judah],
- 1 Chronicles 2:53 - and the families of Kiriath-jearim: the Ithrites, Puthites, Shumathites, and Mishraites. From these came the Zorathites and the Eshtaolites.
- 1 Chronicles 2:54 - The sons (descendants) of Salma: Bethlehem, the Netophathites, Atroth-beth-joab, and half of the Manahathites, the Zorites.
- 1 Chronicles 2:55 - The families of scribes who lived at Jabez: the Tirathites, Shimeathites, and Sucathites. These are the Kenites who came from Hammath, the father of the house of Rechab.
