  • Numbers 8:4 - Now this workmanship of the lampstand was hammered gold; from its shaft to its flowers it was hammered work. According to the pattern which the Lord had shown Moses, so he made the lampstand.

  • Numbers 8:6 - “Take the Levites from among the children of Israel and cleanse them ceremonially.
  • Numbers 8:7 - Thus you shall do to them to cleanse them: Sprinkle water of purification on them, and let them shave all their body, and let them wash their clothes, and so make themselves clean.
  • Numbers 8:8 - Then let them take a young bull with its grain offering of fine flour mixed with oil, and you shall take another young bull as a sin offering.
  • Numbers 8:9 - And you shall bring the Levites before the tabernacle of meeting, and you shall gather together the whole congregation of the children of Israel.
  • Numbers 8:10 - So you shall bring the Levites before the Lord, and the children of Israel shall lay their hands on the Levites;
  • Numbers 8:11 - and Aaron shall offer the Levites before the Lord like a wave offering from the children of Israel, that they may perform the work of the Lord.
  • Numbers 8:12 - Then the Levites shall lay their hands on the heads of the young bulls, and you shall offer one as a sin offering and the other as a burnt offering to the Lord, to make atonement for the Levites.

  • Numbers 4:9 - And they shall take a blue cloth and cover the lampstand of the light, with its lamps, its wick-trimmers, its trays, and all its oil vessels, with which they service it.
  • Numbers 4:10 - Then they shall put it with all its utensils in a covering of badger skins, and put it on a carrying beam.
  • Numbers 4:11 - “Over the golden altar they shall spread a blue cloth, and cover it with a covering of badger skins; and they shall insert its poles.
  • Numbers 4:12 - Then they shall take all the utensils of service with which they minister in the sanctuary, put them in a blue cloth, cover them with a covering of badger skins, and put them on a carrying beam.

  • Numbers 4:14 - They shall put on it all its implements with which they minister there—the firepans, the forks, the shovels, the basins, and all the utensils of the altar—and they shall spread on it a covering of badger skins, and insert its poles.
  • Numbers 4:15 - And when Aaron and his sons have finished covering the sanctuary and all the furnishings of the sanctuary, when the camp is set to go, then the sons of Kohath shall come to carry them; but they shall not touch any holy thing, lest they die. “These are the things in the tabernacle of meeting which the sons of Kohath are to carry.
  • Numbers 4:16 - “The appointed duty of Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest is the oil for the light, the sweet incense, the daily grain offering, the anointing oil, the oversight of all the tabernacle, of all that is in it, with the sanctuary and its furnishings.”
  • Numbers 4:17 - Then the Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron, saying:
  • Numbers 4:18 - “Do not cut off the tribe of the families of the Kohathites from among the Levites;
  • Numbers 4:19 - but do this in regard to them, that they may live and not die when they approach the most holy things: Aaron and his sons shall go in and appoint each of them to his service and his task.
  • Numbers 4:20 - But they shall not go in to watch while the holy things are being covered, lest they die.”
  • Numbers 4:21 - Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:
  • Numbers 4:22 - “Also take a census of the sons of Gershon, by their fathers’ house, by their families.
  • Numbers 4:23 - From thirty years old and above, even to fifty years old, you shall number them, all who enter to perform the service, to do the work in the tabernacle of meeting.
  • Numbers 4:24 - This is the service of the families of the Gershonites, in serving and carrying:
  • Numbers 4:25 - They shall carry the curtains of the tabernacle and the tabernacle of meeting with its covering, the covering of badger skins that is on it, the screen for the door of the tabernacle of meeting,
  • Numbers 4:26 - the screen for the door of the gate of the court, the hangings of the court which are around the tabernacle and altar, and their cords, all the furnishings for their service and all that is made for these things: so shall they serve.
  • Numbers 4:27 - “Aaron and his sons shall assign all the service of the sons of the Gershonites, all their tasks and all their service. And you shall appoint to them all their tasks as their duty.
  • Numbers 4:28 - This is the service of the families of the sons of Gershon in the tabernacle of meeting. And their duties shall be under the authority of Ithamar the son of Aaron the priest.

  • Numbers 4:35 - from thirty years old and above, even to fifty years old, everyone who entered the service for work in the tabernacle of meeting;

  • Numbers 8:1 - And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:
  • Numbers 8:2 - “Speak to Aaron, and say to him, ‘When you arrange the lamps, the seven lamps shall give light in front of the lampstand.’ ”
  • Numbers 8:3 - And Aaron did so; he arranged the lamps to face toward the front of the lampstand, as the Lord commanded Moses.
  • Numbers 8:4 - Now this workmanship of the lampstand was hammered gold; from its shaft to its flowers it was hammered work. According to the pattern which the Lord had shown Moses, so he made the lampstand.
  • Numbers 8:5 - Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:
  • Numbers 8:6 - “Take the Levites from among the children of Israel and cleanse them ceremonially.
  • Numbers 8:7 - Thus you shall do to them to cleanse them: Sprinkle water of purification on them, and let them shave all their body, and let them wash their clothes, and so make themselves clean.
  • Numbers 8:8 - Then let them take a young bull with its grain offering of fine flour mixed with oil, and you shall take another young bull as a sin offering.
  • Numbers 8:9 - And you shall bring the Levites before the tabernacle of meeting, and you shall gather together the whole congregation of the children of Israel.
  • Numbers 8:10 - So you shall bring the Levites before the Lord, and the children of Israel shall lay their hands on the Levites;
  • Numbers 8:11 - and Aaron shall offer the Levites before the Lord like a wave offering from the children of Israel, that they may perform the work of the Lord.
  • Numbers 8:12 - Then the Levites shall lay their hands on the heads of the young bulls, and you shall offer one as a sin offering and the other as a burnt offering to the Lord, to make atonement for the Levites.
  • Numbers 8:13 - “And you shall stand the Levites before Aaron and his sons, and then offer them like a wave offering to the Lord.
  • Numbers 8:14 - Thus you shall separate the Levites from among the children of Israel, and the Levites shall be Mine.
  • Numbers 8:15 - After that the Levites shall go in to service the tabernacle of meeting. So you shall cleanse them and offer them like a wave offering.
  • Numbers 8:16 - For they are wholly given to Me from among the children of Israel; I have taken them for Myself instead of all who open the womb, the firstborn of all the children of Israel.
  • Numbers 8:17 - For all the firstborn among the children of Israel are Mine, both man and beast; on the day that I struck all the firstborn in the land of Egypt I sanctified them to Myself.

  • Numbers 8:19 - And I have given the Levites as a gift to Aaron and his sons from among the children of Israel, to do the work for the children of Israel in the tabernacle of meeting, and to make atonement for the children of Israel, that there be no plague among the children of Israel when the children of Israel come near the sanctuary.”
  • Numbers 8:20 - Thus Moses and Aaron and all the congregation of the children of Israel did to the Levites; according to all that the Lord commanded Moses concerning the Levites, so the children of Israel did to them.
  • Numbers 8:21 - And the Levites purified themselves and washed their clothes; then Aaron presented them like a wave offering before the Lord, and Aaron made atonement for them to cleanse them.
  • Numbers 8:22 - After that the Levites went in to do their work in the tabernacle of meeting before Aaron and his sons; as the Lord commanded Moses concerning the Levites, so they did to them.
  • Numbers 8:23 - Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,
  • Numbers 8:24 - “This is what pertains to the Levites: From twenty-five years old and above one may enter to perform service in the work of the tabernacle of meeting;
  • Numbers 8:25 - and at the age of fifty years they must cease performing this work, and shall work no more.
  • Numbers 8:26 - They may minister with their brethren in the tabernacle of meeting, to attend to needs, but they themselves shall do no work. Thus you shall do to the Levites regarding their duties.”

  • 1 Chronicles 22:6 - Then he called for his son Solomon, and charged him to build a house for the Lord God of Israel.
  • 1 Chronicles 22:7 - And David said to Solomon: “My son, as for me, it was in my mind to build a house to the name of the Lord my God;
  • 1 Chronicles 22:8 - but the word of the Lord came to me, saying, ‘You have shed much blood and have made great wars; you shall not build a house for My name, because you have shed much blood on the earth in My sight.
  • 1 Chronicles 22:9 - Behold, a son shall be born to you, who shall be a man of rest; and I will give him rest from all his enemies all around. His name shall be Solomon, for I will give peace and quietness to Israel in his days.
  • 1 Chronicles 22:10 - He shall build a house for My name, and he shall be My son, and I will be his Father; and I will establish the throne of his kingdom over Israel forever.’
  • 1 Chronicles 22:11 - Now, my son, may the Lord be with you; and may you prosper, and build the house of the Lord your God, as He has said to you.
  • 1 Chronicles 22:12 - Only may the Lord give you wisdom and understanding, and give you charge concerning Israel, that you may keep the law of the Lord your God.
  • 1 Chronicles 22:13 - Then you will prosper, if you take care to fulfill the statutes and judgments with which the Lord charged Moses concerning Israel. Be strong and of good courage; do not fear nor be dismayed.
  • 1 Chronicles 22:14 - Indeed I have taken much trouble to prepare for the house of the Lord one hundred thousand talents of gold and one million talents of silver, and bronze and iron beyond measure, for it is so abundant. I have prepared timber and stone also, and you may add to them.
  • 1 Chronicles 22:15 - Moreover there are workmen with you in abundance: woodsmen and stonecutters, and all types of skillful men for every kind of work.
  • 1 Chronicles 22:16 - Of gold and silver and bronze and iron there is no limit. Arise and begin working, and the Lord be with you.”
  • 1 Chronicles 22:17 - David also commanded all the leaders of Israel to help Solomon his son, saying,
  • 1 Chronicles 22:18 - “Is not the Lord your God with you? And has He not given you rest on every side? For He has given the inhabitants of the land into my hand, and the land is subdued before the Lord and before His people.
  • 1 Chronicles 22:19 - Now set your heart and your soul to seek the Lord your God. Therefore arise and build the sanctuary of the Lord God, to bring the ark of the covenant of the Lord and the holy articles of God into the house that is to be built for the name of the Lord.”
