  • Numbers 1:1 - Now the Lord spoke to Moses in the Wilderness of Sinai, in the tabernacle of meeting, on the first day of the second month, in the second year after they had come out of the land of Egypt, saying:

  • Numbers 1:10 - from the sons of Joseph: from Ephraim, Elishama the son of Ammihud; from Manasseh, Gamaliel the son of Pedahzur;
  • Numbers 1:11 - from Benjamin, Abidan the son of Gideoni;
  • Numbers 1:12 - from Dan, Ahiezer the son of Ammishaddai;
  • Numbers 1:13 - from Asher, Pagiel the son of Ocran;
  • Numbers 1:14 - from Gad, Eliasaph the son of Deuel;
  • Numbers 1:15 - from Naphtali, Ahira the son of Enan.”
  • Numbers 1:16 - These were chosen from the congregation, leaders of their fathers’ tribes, heads of the divisions in Israel.
  • Numbers 1:17 - Then Moses and Aaron took these men who had been mentioned by name,
  • Numbers 1:18 - and they assembled all the congregation together on the first day of the second month; and they recited their ancestry by families, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of names, from twenty years old and above, each one individually.

  • Numbers 1:50 - but you shall appoint the Levites over the tabernacle of the Testimony, over all its furnishings, and over all things that belong to it; they shall carry the tabernacle and all its furnishings; they shall attend to it and camp around the tabernacle.
  • Numbers 1:51 - And when the tabernacle is to go forward, the Levites shall take it down; and when the tabernacle is to be set up, the Levites shall set it up. The outsider who comes near shall be put to death.

  • Numbers 1:53 - but the Levites shall camp around the tabernacle of the Testimony, that there may be no wrath on the congregation of the children of Israel; and the Levites shall keep charge of the tabernacle of the Testimony.”

  • Numbers 26:9 - The sons of Eliab were Nemuel, Dathan, and Abiram. These are the Dathan and Abiram, representatives of the congregation, who contended against Moses and Aaron in the company of Korah, when they contended against the Lord;
  • Numbers 26:10 - and the earth opened its mouth and swallowed them up together with Korah when that company died, when the fire devoured two hundred and fifty men; and they became a sign.
  • Numbers 26:11 - Nevertheless the children of Korah did not die.
  • Numbers 26:12 - The sons of Simeon according to their families were: of Nemuel, the family of the Nemuelites; of Jamin, the family of the Jaminites; of Jachin, the family of the Jachinites;
  • Numbers 26:13 - of Zerah, the family of the Zarhites; of Shaul, the family of the Shaulites.
  • Numbers 26:14 - These are the families of the Simeonites: twenty-two thousand two hundred.
  • Numbers 26:15 - The sons of Gad according to their families were: of Zephon, the family of the Zephonites; of Haggi, the family of the Haggites; of Shuni, the family of the Shunites;
  • Numbers 26:16 - of Ozni, the family of the Oznites; of Eri, the family of the Erites;
  • Numbers 26:17 - of Arod, the family of the Arodites; of Areli, the family of the Arelites.
  • Numbers 26:18 - These are the families of the sons of Gad according to those who were numbered of them: forty thousand five hundred.
  • Numbers 26:19 - The sons of Judah were Er and Onan; and Er and Onan died in the land of Canaan.
  • Numbers 26:20 - And the sons of Judah according to their families were: of Shelah, the family of the Shelanites; of Perez, the family of the Parzites; of Zerah, the family of the Zarhites.
  • Numbers 26:21 - And the sons of Perez were: of Hezron, the family of the Hezronites; of Hamul, the family of the Hamulites.
  • Numbers 26:22 - These are the families of Judah according to those who were numbered of them: seventy-six thousand five hundred.

  • Numbers 26:26 - The sons of Zebulun according to their families were: of Sered, the family of the Sardites; of Elon, the family of the Elonites; of Jahleel, the family of the Jahleelites.
  • Numbers 26:27 - These are the families of the Zebulunites according to those who were numbered of them: sixty thousand five hundred.
  • Numbers 26:28 - The sons of Joseph according to their families, by Manasseh and Ephraim, were:
  • Numbers 26:29 - The sons of Manasseh: of Machir, the family of the Machirites; and Machir begot Gilead; of Gilead, the family of the Gileadites.
  • Numbers 26:30 - These are the sons of Gilead: of Jeezer, the family of the Jeezerites; of Helek, the family of the Helekites;
  • Numbers 26:31 - of Asriel, the family of the Asrielites; of Shechem, the family of the Shechemites;
  • Numbers 26:32 - of Shemida, the family of the Shemidaites; of Hepher, the family of the Hepherites.
  • Numbers 26:33 - Now Zelophehad the son of Hepher had no sons, but daughters; and the names of the daughters of Zelophehad were Mahlah, Noah, Hoglah, Milcah, and Tirzah.
  • Numbers 26:34 - These are the families of Manasseh; and those who were numbered of them were fifty-two thousand seven hundred.
  • Numbers 26:35 - These are the sons of Ephraim according to their families: of Shuthelah, the family of the Shuthalhites; of Becher, the family of the Bachrites; of Tahan, the family of the Tahanites.
  • Numbers 26:36 - And these are the sons of Shuthelah: of Eran, the family of the Eranites.
  • Numbers 26:37 - These are the families of the sons of Ephraim according to those who were numbered of them: thirty-two thousand five hundred. These are the sons of Joseph according to their families.
  • Numbers 26:38 - The sons of Benjamin according to their families were: of Bela, the family of the Belaites; of Ashbel, the family of the Ashbelites; of Ahiram, the family of the Ahiramites;
  • Numbers 26:39 - of Shupham, the family of the Shuphamites; of Hupham, the family of the Huphamites.
  • Numbers 26:40 - And the sons of Bela were Ard and Naaman: of Ard, the family of the Ardites; of Naaman, the family of the Naamites.
  • Numbers 26:41 - These are the sons of Benjamin according to their families; and those who were numbered of them were forty-five thousand six hundred.
  • Numbers 26:42 - These are the sons of Dan according to their families: of Shuham, the family of the Shuhamites. These are the families of Dan according to their families.
  • Numbers 26:43 - All the families of the Shuhamites, according to those who were numbered of them, were sixty-four thousand four hundred.
  • Numbers 26:44 - The sons of Asher according to their families were: of Jimna, the family of the Jimnites; of Jesui, the family of the Jesuites; of Beriah, the family of the Beriites.
  • Numbers 26:45 - Of the sons of Beriah: of Heber, the family of the Heberites; of Malchiel, the family of the Malchielites.
  • Numbers 26:46 - And the name of the daughter of Asher was Serah.
  • Numbers 26:47 - These are the families of the sons of Asher according to those who were numbered of them: fifty-three thousand four hundred.

  • Numbers 26:51 - These are those who were numbered of the children of Israel: six hundred and one thousand seven hundred and thirty.
  • Numbers 26:52 - Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:
  • Numbers 26:53 - “To these the land shall be divided as an inheritance, according to the number of names.
  • Numbers 26:54 - To a large tribe you shall give a larger inheritance, and to a small tribe you shall give a smaller inheritance. Each shall be given its inheritance according to those who were numbered of them.
  • Numbers 26:55 - But the land shall be divided by lot; they shall inherit according to the names of the tribes of their fathers.
  • Numbers 26:56 - According to the lot their inheritance shall be divided between the larger and the smaller.”
  • Numbers 26:57 - And these are those who were numbered of the Levites according to their families: of Gershon, the family of the Gershonites; of Kohath, the family of the Kohathites; of Merari, the family of the Merarites.
  • Numbers 26:58 - These are the families of the Levites: the family of the Libnites, the family of the Hebronites, the family of the Mahlites, the family of the Mushites, and the family of the Korathites. And Kohath begot Amram.
  • Numbers 26:59 - The name of Amram’s wife was Jochebed the daughter of Levi, who was born to Levi in Egypt; and to Amram she bore Aaron and Moses and their sister Miriam.
  • Numbers 26:60 - To Aaron were born Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar.
  • Numbers 26:61 - And Nadab and Abihu died when they offered profane fire before the Lord.
  • Numbers 26:62 - Now those who were numbered of them were twenty-three thousand, every male from a month old and above; for they were not numbered among the other children of Israel, because there was no inheritance given to them among the children of Israel.

  • Genesis 25:17 - These were the years of the life of Ishmael: one hundred and thirty-seven years; and he breathed his last and died, and was gathered to his people.
  • Genesis 25:18 - (They dwelt from Havilah as far as Shur, which is east of Egypt as you go toward Assyria.) He died in the presence of all his brethren.

  • Genesis 36:2 - Esau took his wives from the daughters of Canaan: Adah the daughter of Elon the Hittite; Aholibamah the daughter of Anah, the daughter of Zibeon the Hivite;
  • Genesis 36:3 - and Basemath, Ishmael’s daughter, sister of Nebajoth.
  • Genesis 36:4 - Now Adah bore Eliphaz to Esau, and Basemath bore Reuel.
  • Genesis 36:5 - And Aholibamah bore Jeush, Jaalam, and Korah. These were the sons of Esau who were born to him in the land of Canaan.
  • Genesis 36:6 - Then Esau took his wives, his sons, his daughters, and all the persons of his household, his cattle and all his animals, and all his goods which he had gained in the land of Canaan, and went to a country away from the presence of his brother Jacob.
  • Genesis 36:7 - For their possessions were too great for them to dwell together, and the land where they were strangers could not support them because of their livestock.
  • Genesis 36:8 - So Esau dwelt in Mount Seir. Esau is Edom.

  • Genesis 36:10 - These were the names of Esau’s sons: Eliphaz the son of Adah the wife of Esau, and Reuel the son of Basemath the wife of Esau.
  • Genesis 36:11 - And the sons of Eliphaz were Teman, Omar, Zepho, Gatam, and Kenaz.
  • Genesis 36:12 - Now Timna was the concubine of Eliphaz, Esau’s son, and she bore Amalek to Eliphaz. These were the sons of Adah, Esau’s wife.
  • Genesis 36:13 - These were the sons of Reuel: Nahath, Zerah, Shammah, and Mizzah. These were the sons of Basemath, Esau’s wife.
  • Genesis 36:14 - These were the sons of Aholibamah, Esau’s wife, the daughter of Anah, the daughter of Zibeon. And she bore to Esau: Jeush, Jaalam, and Korah.
  • Genesis 36:15 - These were the chiefs of the sons of Esau. The sons of Eliphaz, the firstborn son of Esau, were Chief Teman, Chief Omar, Chief Zepho, Chief Kenaz,
  • Genesis 36:16 - Chief Korah, Chief Gatam, and Chief Amalek. These were the chiefs of Eliphaz in the land of Edom. They were the sons of Adah.
  • Genesis 36:17 - These were the sons of Reuel, Esau’s son: Chief Nahath, Chief Zerah, Chief Shammah, and Chief Mizzah. These were the chiefs of Reuel in the land of Edom. These were the sons of Basemath, Esau’s wife.
  • Genesis 36:18 - And these were the sons of Aholibamah, Esau’s wife: Chief Jeush, Chief Jaalam, and Chief Korah. These were the chiefs who descended from Aholibamah, Esau’s wife, the daughter of Anah.
  • Genesis 36:19 - These were the sons of Esau, who is Edom, and these were their chiefs.
  • Genesis 36:20 - These were the sons of Seir the Horite who inhabited the land: Lotan, Shobal, Zibeon, Anah,
  • Genesis 36:21 - Dishon, Ezer, and Dishan. These were the chiefs of the Horites, the sons of Seir, in the land of Edom.
  • Genesis 36:22 - And the sons of Lotan were Hori and Hemam. Lotan’s sister was Timna.
  • Genesis 36:23 - These were the sons of Shobal: Alvan, Manahath, Ebal, Shepho, and Onam.
  • Genesis 36:24 - These were the sons of Zibeon: both Ajah and Anah. This was the Anah who found the water in the wilderness as he pastured the donkeys of his father Zibeon.
  • Genesis 36:25 - These were the children of Anah: Dishon and Aholibamah the daughter of Anah.
  • Genesis 36:26 - These were the sons of Dishon: Hemdan, Eshban, Ithran, and Cheran.
  • Genesis 36:27 - These were the sons of Ezer: Bilhan, Zaavan, and Akan.
  • Genesis 36:28 - These were the sons of Dishan: Uz and Aran.
  • Genesis 36:29 - These were the chiefs of the Horites: Chief Lotan, Chief Shobal, Chief Zibeon, Chief Anah,
  • Genesis 36:30 - Chief Dishon, Chief Ezer, and Chief Dishan. These were the chiefs of the Horites, according to their chiefs in the land of Seir.
  • Genesis 36:31 - Now these were the kings who reigned in the land of Edom before any king reigned over the children of Israel:
  • Genesis 36:32 - Bela the son of Beor reigned in Edom, and the name of his city was Dinhabah.
  • Genesis 36:33 - And when Bela died, Jobab the son of Zerah of Bozrah reigned in his place.
  • Genesis 36:34 - When Jobab died, Husham of the land of the Temanites reigned in his place.
  • Genesis 36:35 - And when Husham died, Hadad the son of Bedad, who attacked Midian in the field of Moab, reigned in his place. And the name of his city was Avith.

  • Genesis 36:42 - Chief Kenaz, Chief Teman, Chief Mibzar,
  • Genesis 36:43 - Chief Magdiel, and Chief Iram. These were the chiefs of Edom, according to their dwelling places in the land of their possession. Esau was the father of the Edomites.
