- Nehemiah 9:30 - For many years you were patient with them. By your Spirit you warned them through your prophets. Yet they paid no attention, so you gave them into the hands of the neighboring peoples.
- 1 Kings 9:6 - “But if you or your descendants turn away from me and do not observe the commands and decrees I have given you and go off to serve other gods and worship them,
- 1 Kings 9:7 - then I will cut off Israel from the land I have given them and will reject this temple I have consecrated for my Name. Israel will then become a byword and an object of ridicule among all peoples.
- 1 Kings 9:8 - This temple will become a heap of rubble. All who pass by will be appalled and will scoff and say, ‘Why has the Lord done such a thing to this land and to this temple?’
- 1 Kings 9:9 - People will answer, ‘Because they have forsaken the Lord their God, who brought their ancestors out of Egypt, and have embraced other gods, worshiping and serving them—that is why the Lord brought all this disaster on them.’ ”
- 1 Samuel 12:15 - But if you do not obey the Lord, and if you rebel against his commands, his hand will be against you, as it was against your ancestors.
- Deuteronomy 32:15 - Jeshurun grew fat and kicked; filled with food, they became heavy and sleek. They abandoned the God who made them and rejected the Rock their Savior.

- Deuteronomy 32:21 - They made me jealous by what is no god and angered me with their worthless idols. I will make them envious by those who are not a people; I will make them angry by a nation that has no understanding.
- Deuteronomy 32:22 - For a fire will be kindled by my wrath, one that burns down to the realm of the dead below. It will devour the earth and its harvests and set afire the foundations of the mountains.
- Deuteronomy 32:23 - “I will heap calamities on them and spend my arrows against them.
- Deuteronomy 32:24 - I will send wasting famine against them, consuming pestilence and deadly plague; I will send against them the fangs of wild beasts, the venom of vipers that glide in the dust.
- Deuteronomy 32:25 - In the street the sword will make them childless; in their homes terror will reign. The young men and young women will perish, the infants and those with gray hair.
- Deuteronomy 32:26 - I said I would scatter them and erase their name from human memory,
- Deuteronomy 32:27 - but I dreaded the taunt of the enemy, lest the adversary misunderstand and say, ‘Our hand has triumphed; the Lord has not done all this.’ ”
- Deuteronomy 32:28 - They are a nation without sense, there is no discernment in them.
- 2 Kings 17:5 - The king of Assyria invaded the entire land, marched against Samaria and laid siege to it for three years.
- 2 Kings 17:6 - In the ninth year of Hoshea, the king of Assyria captured Samaria and deported the Israelites to Assyria. He settled them in Halah, in Gozan on the Habor River and in the towns of the Medes.
- 2 Kings 17:7 - All this took place because the Israelites had sinned against the Lord their God, who had brought them up out of Egypt from under the power of Pharaoh king of Egypt. They worshiped other gods
- 2 Kings 17:8 - and followed the practices of the nations the Lord had driven out before them, as well as the practices that the kings of Israel had introduced.
- Acts 7:51 - “You stiff-necked people! Your hearts and ears are still uncircumcised. You are just like your ancestors: You always resist the Holy Spirit!
- Acts 7:52 - Was there ever a prophet your ancestors did not persecute? They even killed those who predicted the coming of the Righteous One. And now you have betrayed and murdered him—
- Nehemiah 9:36 - “But see, we are slaves today, slaves in the land you gave our ancestors so they could eat its fruit and the other good things it produces.
- Nehemiah 9:37 - Because of our sins, its abundant harvest goes to the kings you have placed over us. They rule over our bodies and our cattle as they please. We are in great distress.
- Jeremiah 44:22 - When the Lord could no longer endure your wicked actions and the detestable things you did, your land became a curse and a desolate waste without inhabitants, as it is today.
- Leviticus 26:14 - “ ‘But if you will not listen to me and carry out all these commands,
- Leviticus 26:15 - and if you reject my decrees and abhor my laws and fail to carry out all my commands and so violate my covenant,
- Leviticus 26:16 - then I will do this to you: I will bring on you sudden terror, wasting diseases and fever that will destroy your sight and sap your strength. You will plant seed in vain, because your enemies will eat it.
- Leviticus 26:17 - I will set my face against you so that you will be defeated by your enemies; those who hate you will rule over you, and you will flee even when no one is pursuing you.
- Leviticus 26:18 - “ ‘If after all this you will not listen to me, I will punish you for your sins seven times over.
- Leviticus 26:19 - I will break down your stubborn pride and make the sky above you like iron and the ground beneath you like bronze.
- Leviticus 26:20 - Your strength will be spent in vain, because your soil will not yield its crops, nor will the trees of your land yield their fruit.
- Leviticus 26:21 - “ ‘If you remain hostile toward me and refuse to listen to me, I will multiply your afflictions seven times over, as your sins deserve.
- Leviticus 26:22 - I will send wild animals against you, and they will rob you of your children, destroy your cattle and make you so few in number that your roads will be deserted.
- Leviticus 26:23 - “ ‘If in spite of these things you do not accept my correction but continue to be hostile toward me,
- Leviticus 26:24 - I myself will be hostile toward you and will afflict you for your sins seven times over.
- Leviticus 26:25 - And I will bring the sword on you to avenge the breaking of the covenant. When you withdraw into your cities, I will send a plague among you, and you will be given into enemy hands.
- Leviticus 26:26 - When I cut off your supply of bread, ten women will be able to bake your bread in one oven, and they will dole out the bread by weight. You will eat, but you will not be satisfied.
- Leviticus 26:27 - “ ‘If in spite of this you still do not listen to me but continue to be hostile toward me,
- Leviticus 26:28 - then in my anger I will be hostile toward you, and I myself will punish you for your sins seven times over.
- Leviticus 26:29 - You will eat the flesh of your sons and the flesh of your daughters.
- Leviticus 26:30 - I will destroy your high places, cut down your incense altars and pile your dead bodies on the lifeless forms of your idols, and I will abhor you.
- Leviticus 26:31 - I will turn your cities into ruins and lay waste your sanctuaries, and I will take no delight in the pleasing aroma of your offerings.
- Leviticus 26:32 - I myself will lay waste the land, so that your enemies who live there will be appalled.
- Leviticus 26:33 - I will scatter you among the nations and will draw out my sword and pursue you. Your land will be laid waste, and your cities will lie in ruins.
- Leviticus 26:34 - Then the land will enjoy its sabbath years all the time that it lies desolate and you are in the country of your enemies; then the land will rest and enjoy its sabbaths.
- Leviticus 26:35 - All the time that it lies desolate, the land will have the rest it did not have during the sabbaths you lived in it.
- Leviticus 26:36 - “ ‘As for those of you who are left, I will make their hearts so fearful in the lands of their enemies that the sound of a windblown leaf will put them to flight. They will run as though fleeing from the sword, and they will fall, even though no one is pursuing them.
- Leviticus 26:37 - They will stumble over one another as though fleeing from the sword, even though no one is pursuing them. So you will not be able to stand before your enemies.
- Leviticus 26:38 - You will perish among the nations; the land of your enemies will devour you.
- Leviticus 26:39 - Those of you who are left will waste away in the lands of their enemies because of their sins; also because of their ancestors’ sins they will waste away.
- Leviticus 26:40 - “ ‘But if they will confess their sins and the sins of their ancestors—their unfaithfulness and their hostility toward me,
- Leviticus 26:41 - which made me hostile toward them so that I sent them into the land of their enemies—then when their uncircumcised hearts are humbled and they pay for their sin,
- Leviticus 26:42 - I will remember my covenant with Jacob and my covenant with Isaac and my covenant with Abraham, and I will remember the land.
- Leviticus 26:43 - For the land will be deserted by them and will enjoy its sabbaths while it lies desolate without them. They will pay for their sins because they rejected my laws and abhorred my decrees.
- Leviticus 26:44 - Yet in spite of this, when they are in the land of their enemies, I will not reject them or abhor them so as to destroy them completely, breaking my covenant with them. I am the Lord their God.
- Leviticus 26:45 - But for their sake I will remember the covenant with their ancestors whom I brought out of Egypt in the sight of the nations to be their God. I am the Lord.’ ”
- Leviticus 26:46 - These are the decrees, the laws and the regulations that the Lord established at Mount Sinai between himself and the Israelites through Moses.
- Zechariah 1:4 - Do not be like your ancestors, to whom the earlier prophets proclaimed: This is what the Lord Almighty says: ‘Turn from your evil ways and your evil practices.’ But they would not listen or pay attention to me, declares the Lord.

- 2 Chronicles 36:19 - They set fire to God’s temple and broke down the wall of Jerusalem; they burned all the palaces and destroyed everything of value there.
- Nehemiah 9:32 - “Now therefore, our God, the great God, mighty and awesome, who keeps his covenant of love, do not let all this hardship seem trifling in your eyes—the hardship that has come on us, on our kings and leaders, on our priests and prophets, on our ancestors and all your people, from the days of the kings of Assyria until today.
- Nehemiah 9:33 - In all that has happened to us, you have remained righteous; you have acted faithfully, while we acted wickedly.
- Nehemiah 9:34 - Our kings, our leaders, our priests and our ancestors did not follow your law; they did not pay attention to your commands or the statutes you warned them to keep.
- 2 Chronicles 30:7 - Do not be like your parents and your fellow Israelites, who were unfaithful to the Lord, the God of their ancestors, so that he made them an object of horror, as you see.
- Deuteronomy 30:17 - But if your heart turns away and you are not obedient, and if you are drawn away to bow down to other gods and worship them,
- Deuteronomy 30:18 - I declare to you this day that you will certainly be destroyed. You will not live long in the land you are crossing the Jordan to enter and possess.

- Daniel 9:8 - We and our kings, our princes and our ancestors are covered with shame, Lord, because we have sinned against you.
- 2 Chronicles 29:6 - Our parents were unfaithful; they did evil in the eyes of the Lord our God and forsook him. They turned their faces away from the Lord’s dwelling place and turned their backs on him.
