Hesekiel 33:31 - Dann kommen sie in großen Scharen und setzen sich vor dich hin, ganz so, wie es sich für mein Volk gehört. Sie hören dann zwar, was du ihnen sagst, doch sie richten sich nicht danach. Sie tun so, als würden sie deine Worte begierig aufnehmen, aber insgeheim sind sie nur auf unrechten Gewinn aus.
Hesekiel 1:2 - Mit diesen Worten beginnt der Bericht des Propheten Hesekiel. Er war ein Sohn von Busi und stammte aus einer jüdischen Priesterfamilie. Fünf Jahre nachdem König Jojachin nach Babylon verschleppt worden war, wurde Hesekiel zum ersten Mal vom Herrn ergriffen . Im Folgenden sind die Botschaften aufgeschrieben, die Gott ihm gab, während er am Fluss Kebar in Babylonien wohnte:
Hesekiel 14:1 - Einige der führenden Männer Israels kamen zu mir, weil sie Gott durch mich befragen wollten. Sie setzten sich vor mich hin und warteten.
Hesekiel 20:1 - Im 7. Jahr unserer Verbannung in Babylonien, am 10. Tag des 5. Monats, kamen einige führende Männer des Volkes Israel zu mir, um den Herrn zu befragen. Sie setzten sich vor mich hin und warteten.
