  • Jeremiah 12:4 - How long must this land mourn? Even the grass in the fields has withered. The wild animals and birds have disappeared because of the evil in the land. For the people have said, “The Lord doesn’t see what’s ahead for us!”
  • Hosea 10:5 - The people of Samaria tremble in fear for their calf idol at Beth-aven, and they mourn for it. Though its priests rejoice over it, its glory will be stripped away.
  • Amos 8:10 - I will turn your celebrations into times of mourning and your singing into weeping. You will wear funeral clothes and shave your heads to show your sorrow— as if your only son had died. How very bitter that day will be!
  • Isaiah 24:19 - The earth has broken up. It has utterly collapsed; it is violently shaken.
  • Isaiah 24:20 - The earth staggers like a drunk. It trembles like a tent in a storm. It falls and will not rise again, for the guilt of its rebellion is very heavy.

  • Psalms 60:3 - You have been very hard on us, making us drink wine that sent us reeling.
  • Psalms 114:3 - The Red Sea saw them coming and hurried out of their way! The water of the Jordan River turned away.
  • Psalms 114:4 - The mountains skipped like rams, the hills like lambs!
  • Psalms 114:5 - What’s wrong, Red Sea, that made you hurry out of their way? What happened, Jordan River, that you turned away?
  • Psalms 114:6 - Why, mountains, did you skip like rams? Why, hills, like lambs?
  • Psalms 114:7 - Tremble, O earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob.
  • Daniel 9:26 - “After this period of sixty-two sets of seven, the Anointed One will be killed, appearing to have accomplished nothing, and a ruler will arise whose armies will destroy the city and the Temple. The end will come with a flood, and war and its miseries are decreed from that time to the very end.
  • Habakkuk 3:5 - Pestilence marches before him; plague follows close behind.
  • Habakkuk 3:6 - When he stops, the earth shakes. When he looks, the nations tremble. He shatters the everlasting mountains and levels the eternal hills. He is the Eternal One!
  • Habakkuk 3:7 - I see the people of Cushan in distress, and the nation of Midian trembling in terror.
  • Habakkuk 3:8 - Was it in anger, Lord, that you struck the rivers and parted the sea? Were you displeased with them? No, you were sending your chariots of salvation!
  • Isaiah 5:25 - That is why the Lord’s anger burns against his people, and why he has raised his fist to crush them. The mountains tremble, and the corpses of his people litter the streets like garbage. But even then the Lord’s anger is not satisfied. His fist is still poised to strike!
  • Psalms 18:7 - Then the earth quaked and trembled. The foundations of the mountains shook; they quaked because of his anger.
  • Jeremiah 46:8 - It is the Egyptian army, overflowing all the land, boasting that it will cover the earth like a flood, destroying cities and their people.
  • Hosea 4:3 - That is why your land is in mourning, and everyone is wasting away. Even the wild animals, the birds of the sky, and the fish of the sea are disappearing.
  • Amos 9:5 - The Lord, the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, touches the land and it melts, and all its people mourn. The ground rises like the Nile River at floodtime, and then it sinks again.
