Jeremiah 19:4 - Because the people [of Jerusalem] have abandoned (rejected) Me and have made this an alien and profaned place by burning sacrifices and incense in it to other gods, that neither they nor their fathers nor the kings of Judah ever knew, and because they have filled this place with the blood of the innocent
Matthew 23:30 - and you say, ‘If we had been living in the days of our fathers, we would not have joined them in shedding the blood of the prophets.’
Matthew 23:31 - So you testify against yourselves that you are the descendants of those who murdered the prophets.

Luke 13:34 - O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, who kills the prophets and stones [to death] those [messengers] who are sent to her [by God]! How often I have wanted to gather your children together [around Me], just as a hen gathers her young under her wings, but you were not willing!
Numbers 35:33 - So you shall not pollute and defile the land in which you live; for [the shedding of innocent] blood pollutes and defiles the land. No atonement (expiation) can be made for the land for the [innocent] blood shed in it, except by the blood (execution) of him who shed it.
