  • Zechariah 1:6 - I commanded my servants the prophets what to say. I told them what I planned to do. But your people refused to obey me. So I had to punish them. “Then they had a change of heart. They said, ‘The Lord who rules over all has punished us because of how we have lived. He was fair and right to do that. He has done to us just what he decided to do.’ ”
  • Daniel 5:3 - So the servants brought in the gold cups. The cups had been taken from God’s temple in Jerusalem. The king and his nobles drank from them. So did his wives and concubines.
  • 2 Kings 25:13 - The Babylonian army destroyed the Lord’s temple. They broke the bronze pillars into pieces. They broke up the bronze stands that could be moved around. And they broke up the huge bronze bowl. Then they carried the bronze away to Babylon.
  • 2 Kings 25:14 - They also took away the pots, shovels, wick cutters and dishes. They took away all the bronze objects used for any purpose in the temple.
  • 2 Kings 25:15 - The commander of the royal guard took away the shallow cups for burning incense. He took away the sprinkling bowls. So he took away everything made out of pure gold or silver.
  • 2 Kings 25:16 - The bronze was more than anyone could weigh. It included the bronze from the two pillars, the huge bowl and the stands. Solomon had made all those things for the Lord’s temple.
  • 2 Kings 25:17 - Each pillar was 27 feet high. The bronze top of one pillar was four and a half feet high. It was decorated with a set of bronze chains and pomegranates all around it. The other pillar was just like it. It also had a set of chains.
  • Jeremiah 52:17 - The armies of Babylon destroyed the Lord’s temple. They broke the bronze pillars into pieces. They broke up the bronze stands that could be moved around. And they broke up the huge bronze bowl. Then they carried away all the bronze to Babylon.
  • Jeremiah 52:18 - They also took away the pots, shovels, wick cutters, sprinkling bowls and dishes. They took away all the bronze objects that were used for any purpose in the temple.

He took away the bowls used for drink offerings. So he took away everything made out of pure gold or silver.
  • Jeremiah 52:20 - The bronze was more than anyone could weigh. It included the bronze from the two pillars. It included the bronze from the huge bowl and the 12 bronze bulls under it. It also included the stands. King Solomon had made all those things for the Lord’s temple.
  • Jeremiah 52:21 - Each pillar was 27 feet high and 18 feet around. The pillars were hollow. The metal in each of them was three inches thick.
  • Jeremiah 52:22 - The bronze top of one pillar was seven and a half feet high. It was decorated with a set of bronze chains and pomegranates all around it. The other pillar was just like it. It also had pomegranates.
  • Jeremiah 52:23 - There were 96 pomegranates on the sides of each of the two tops. The total number of pomegranates above the bronze chains around each top was 100.
  • Isaiah 39:6 - ‘You can be sure the time will come when everything in your palace will be carried off to Babylon. Everything the kings before you have stored up until this day will be taken away. There will not be anything left,’ says the Lord.
  • 2 Kings 20:13 - Hezekiah received the messengers. He showed them everything in his storerooms. He showed them the silver and gold. He showed them the spices and the fine olive oil. He showed them where he kept his weapons. And he showed them all his treasures. In fact, he showed them everything in his palace and in his whole kingdom.
  • 2 Kings 20:14 - Then Isaiah the prophet went to King Hezekiah. He asked him, “What did those men say? Where did they come from?” “They came from a land far away,” Hezekiah said. “They came from Babylon.”
  • 2 Kings 20:15 - The prophet asked, “What did they see in your palace?” “They saw everything in my palace,” Hezekiah said. “I showed them all my treasures.”
  • 2 Kings 20:16 - Then Isaiah said to Hezekiah, “Listen to the Lord’s message. He says,
  • 2 Kings 20:17 - ‘You can be sure the time will come when everything in your palace will be carried off to Babylon. Everything the kings before you have stored up until this day will be taken away. There will not be anything left,’ says the Lord.
  • 2 Chronicles 36:7 - Nebuchadnezzar also took to Babylon objects from the Lord’s temple. He put them in his own temple there.
  • 2 Chronicles 36:10 - In the spring, King Nebuchadnezzar sent for him. He brought him to Babylon. He also brought things of value from the Lord’s temple. He made Zedekiah king over Judah and Jerusalem. Zedekiah was Jehoiachin’s uncle.
