Jeremiah 52:8 - But the Babylonian army chased after the king. They caught up with Zedekiah in the plains of Jericho, and his entire army deserted him.
Jeremiah 52:9 - They captured him and brought him up to the king of Babylon at Riblah in the territory of Hamath and he passed sentence on him there.
Jeremiah 52:10 - The king of Babylon had Zedekiah’s sons put to death while Zedekiah was forced to watch. He also had all the nobles of Judah put to death there at Riblah.
Jeremiah 52:11 - He had Zedekiah’s eyes put out and had him bound in chains. Then the king of Babylon had him led off to Babylon and he was imprisoned there until the day he died.
Jeremiah 52:12 - On the tenth day of the fifth month, in the nineteenth year of King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon, Nebuzaradan, the captain of the royal guard who served the king of Babylon, arrived in Jerusalem.
Jeremiah 52:13 - He burned down the Lord’s temple, the royal palace, and all the houses in Jerusalem, including every large house.
Jeremiah 52:14 - The whole Babylonian army that came with the captain of the royal guard tore down the walls that surrounded Jerusalem.
Jeremiah 52:15 - Nebuzaradan, the captain of the royal guard, took into exile some of the poor, the rest of the people who remained in the city, those who had deserted to him, and the rest of the craftsmen.
Jeremiah 52:16 - But he left behind some of the poor and gave them fields and vineyards.
Jeremiah 52:17 - The Babylonians broke the two bronze pillars in the temple of the Lord, as well as the movable stands and the large bronze basin called the “The Sea.” They took all the bronze to Babylon.
Jeremiah 52:18 - They also took the pots, shovels, trimming shears, basins, pans, and all the bronze utensils used by the priests.
Jeremiah 52:19 - The captain of the royal guard took the gold and silver bowls, censers, basins, pots, lampstands, pans, and vessels.
Jeremiah 52:20 - The bronze of the items that King Solomon made for the Lord’s temple (including the two pillars, the large bronze basin called “The Sea,” the twelve bronze bulls under “The Sea,” and the movable stands ) was too heavy to be weighed.
Jeremiah 52:21 - Each of the pillars was about 27 feet high, about 18 feet in circumference, three inches thick, and hollow.
Jeremiah 52:22 - The bronze top of one pillar was about seven and one-half feet high and had bronze latticework and pomegranate-shaped ornaments all around it. The second pillar with its pomegranate-shaped ornaments was like it.
Jeremiah 52:23 - There were ninety-six pomegranate-shaped ornaments on the sides; in all there were one hundred pomegranate-shaped ornaments over the latticework that went around it.
Jeremiah 52:24 - The captain of the royal guard took Seraiah the chief priest, Zephaniah the priest who was second in rank, and the three doorkeepers.
Jeremiah 52:25 - From the city he took an official who was in charge of the soldiers, seven of the king’s advisers who were discovered in the city, an official army secretary who drafted citizens for military service, and sixty citizens who were discovered in the middle of the city.
Jeremiah 52:26 - Nebuzaradan, the captain of the royal guard, took them and brought them to the king of Babylon at Riblah.
Jeremiah 52:27 - The king of Babylon ordered them to be executed at Riblah in the territory of Hamath. So Judah was taken into exile away from its land.
Jeremiah 52:28 - Here is the official record of the number of people Nebuchadnezzar carried into exile: In the seventh year, 3,023 Jews;
Jeremiah 52:29 - in Nebuchadnezzar’s eighteenth year, 832 people from Jerusalem;
Jeremiah 52:30 - in Nebuchadnezzar’s twenty-third year, Nebuzaradan, the captain of the royal guard, carried into exile 745 Judeans. In all 4,600 people went into exile.
Jeremiah 52:31 - In the thirty-seventh year of the exile of King Jehoiachin of Judah, on the twenty-fifth day of the twelfth month, Evil-Merodach, in the first year of his reign, pardoned King Jehoiachin of Judah and released him from prison.
Jeremiah 52:32 - He spoke kindly to him and gave him a more prestigious position than the other kings who were with him in Babylon.
Jeremiah 52:33 - Jehoiachin took off his prison clothes and ate daily in the king’s presence for the rest of his life.
Jeremiah 52:34 - He was given daily provisions by the king of Babylon for the rest of his life until the day he died.
Jeremiah 18:21 - So let their children die of starvation. Let them be cut down by the sword. Let their wives lose their husbands and children. Let the older men die of disease and the younger men die by the sword in battle.

Deuteronomy 28:32 - Your sons and daughters will be given to another people while you look on in vain all day, and you will be powerless to do anything about it.
Deuteronomy 28:33 - As for the produce of your land and all your labor, a people you do not know will consume it, and you will be nothing but oppressed and crushed for the rest of your lives.
Deuteronomy 28:34 - You will go insane from seeing all this.
Deuteronomy 28:35 - The Lord will afflict you in your knees and on your legs with painful, incurable boils – from the soles of your feet to the top of your head.
Deuteronomy 28:36 - The Lord will force you and your king whom you will appoint over you to go away to a people whom you and your ancestors have not known, and you will serve other gods of wood and stone there.
Deuteronomy 28:37 - You will become an occasion of horror, a proverb, and an object of ridicule to all the peoples to whom the Lord will drive you.
Deuteronomy 28:38 - “You will take much seed to the field but gather little harvest, because locusts will consume it.
Deuteronomy 28:39 - You will plant vineyards and cultivate them, but you will not drink wine or gather in grapes, because worms will eat them.
Deuteronomy 28:40 - You will have olive trees throughout your territory but you will not anoint yourself with olive oil, because the olives will drop off the trees while still unripe.
Deuteronomy 28:41 - You will bear sons and daughters but not keep them, because they will be taken into captivity.
Deuteronomy 28:42 - Whirring locusts will take over every tree and all the produce of your soil.
Deuteronomy 28:43 - The foreigners who reside among you will become higher and higher over you and you will become lower and lower.
Deuteronomy 28:44 - They will lend to you but you will not lend to them; they will become the head and you will become the tail!
Deuteronomy 28:45 - All these curses will fall on you, pursuing and overtaking you until you are destroyed, because you would not obey the Lord your God by keeping his commandments and statutes that he has given you.
Deuteronomy 28:46 - These curses will be a perpetual sign and wonder with reference to you and your descendants.
Deuteronomy 28:47 - “Because you have not served the Lord your God joyfully and wholeheartedly with the abundance of everything you have,
Deuteronomy 28:48 - instead in hunger, thirst, nakedness, and poverty you will serve your enemies whom the Lord will send against you. They will place an iron yoke on your neck until they have destroyed you.
Deuteronomy 28:49 - The Lord will raise up a distant nation against you, one from the other side of the earth as the eagle flies, a nation whose language you will not understand,
Deuteronomy 28:50 - a nation of stern appearance that will have no regard for the elderly or pity for the young.
Deuteronomy 28:51 - They will devour the offspring of your livestock and the produce of your soil until you are destroyed. They will not leave you with any grain, new wine, olive oil, calves of your herds, or lambs of your flocks until they have destroyed you.
Deuteronomy 28:52 - They will besiege all of your villages until all of your high and fortified walls collapse – those in which you put your confidence throughout the land. They will besiege all your villages throughout the land the Lord your God has given you.
Deuteronomy 28:53 - You will then eat your own offspring, the flesh of the sons and daughters the Lord your God has given you, because of the severity of the siege by which your enemies will constrict you.
Deuteronomy 28:54 - The man among you who is by nature tender and sensitive will turn against his brother, his beloved wife, and his remaining children.
Deuteronomy 28:55 - He will withhold from all of them his children’s flesh that he is eating (since there is nothing else left), because of the severity of the siege by which your enemy will constrict you in your villages.
Deuteronomy 28:56 - Likewise, the most tender and delicate of your women, who would never think of putting even the sole of her foot on the ground because of her daintiness, will turn against her beloved husband, her sons and daughters,
Deuteronomy 28:57 - and will secretly eat her afterbirth and her newborn children (since she has nothing else), because of the severity of the siege by which your enemy will constrict you in your villages.
Deuteronomy 28:58 - “If you refuse to obey all the words of this law, the things written in this scroll, and refuse to fear this glorious and awesome name, the Lord your God,
Deuteronomy 28:59 - then the Lord will increase your punishments and those of your descendants – great and long-lasting afflictions and severe, enduring illnesses.
Deuteronomy 28:60 - He will infect you with all the diseases of Egypt that you dreaded, and they will persistently afflict you.
Deuteronomy 28:61 - Moreover, the Lord will bring upon you every kind of sickness and plague not mentioned in this scroll of commandments, until you have perished.
Deuteronomy 28:62 - There will be very few of you left, though at one time you were as numerous as the stars in the sky, because you will have disobeyed the Lord your God.
Deuteronomy 28:63 - This is what will happen: Just as the Lord delighted to do good for you and make you numerous, he will take delight in destroying and decimating you. You will be uprooted from the land you are about to possess.
Deuteronomy 28:64 - The Lord will scatter you among all nations, from one end of the earth to the other. There you will worship other gods that neither you nor your ancestors have known, gods of wood and stone.

Jeremiah 39:1 - King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon came against Jerusalem with his whole army and laid siege to it. The siege began in the tenth month of the ninth year that Zedekiah ruled over Judah.

Jeremiah 39:3 - Then Nergal-Sharezer of Samgar, Nebo-Sarsekim, who was a chief officer, Nergal-Sharezer, who was a high official, and all the other officers of the king of Babylon came and set up quarters in the Middle Gate.
Jeremiah 39:4 - When King Zedekiah of Judah and all his soldiers saw them, they tried to escape. They departed from the city during the night. They took a path through the king’s garden and passed out through the gate between the two walls. Then they headed for the Jordan Valley.

Jeremiah 39:16 - “Go and tell Ebed-Melech the Ethiopian, ‘The Lord God of Israel who rules over all says, “I will carry out against this city what I promised. It will mean disaster and not good fortune for it. When that disaster happens, you will be there to see it.
Jeremiah 39:17 - But I will rescue you when it happens. I, the Lord, affirm it! You will not be handed over to those whom you fear.
Jeremiah 39:18 - I will certainly save you. You will not fall victim to violence. You will escape with your life because you trust in me. I, the Lord, affirm it!”’”

2 Kings 25:2 - The city remained under siege until King Zedekiah’s eleventh year.
2 Kings 25:3 - By the ninth day of the fourth month the famine in the city was so severe the residents had no food.
2 Kings 25:4 - The enemy broke through the city walls, and all the soldiers tried to escape. They left the city during the night. They went through the gate between the two walls that is near the king’s garden. (The Babylonians were all around the city.) Then they headed for the Jordan Valley.
2 Kings 25:5 - But the Babylonian army chased after the king. They caught up with him in the plains of Jericho, and his entire army deserted him.
2 Kings 25:6 - They captured the king and brought him up to the king of Babylon at Riblah, where he passed sentence on him.
2 Kings 25:7 - Zedekiah’s sons were executed while Zedekiah was forced to watch. The king of Babylon then had Zedekiah’s eyes put out, bound him in bronze chains, and carried him off to Babylon.

Deuteronomy 32:17 - They sacrificed to demons, not God, to gods they had not known; to new gods who had recently come along, gods your ancestors had not known about.
Deuteronomy 32:18 - You have forgotten the Rock who fathered you, and put out of mind the God who gave you birth.
Deuteronomy 32:19 - But the Lord took note and despised them because his sons and daughters enraged him.
Deuteronomy 32:20 - He said, “I will reject them, I will see what will happen to them; for they are a perverse generation, children who show no loyalty.
Deuteronomy 32:21 - They have made me jealous with false gods, enraging me with their worthless gods; so I will make them jealous with a people they do not recognize, with a nation slow to learn I will enrage them.
Deuteronomy 32:22 - For a fire has been kindled by my anger, and it burns to lowest Sheol; it consumes the earth and its produce, and ignites the foundations of the mountains.
Deuteronomy 32:23 - I will increase their disasters, I will use up my arrows on them.
Deuteronomy 32:24 - They will be starved by famine, eaten by plague, and bitterly stung; I will send the teeth of wild animals against them, along with the poison of creatures that crawl in the dust.
Deuteronomy 32:25 - The sword will make people childless outside, and terror will do so inside; they will destroy both the young man and the virgin, the infant and the gray-haired man.
Deuteronomy 32:26 - “I said, ‘I want to cut them in pieces. I want to make people forget they ever existed.
Deuteronomy 32:27 - But I fear the reaction of their enemies, for their adversaries would misunderstand and say, “Our power is great, and the Lord has not done all this!”’
Deuteronomy 32:28 - They are a nation devoid of wisdom, and there is no understanding among them.
Deuteronomy 28:15 - “But if you ignore the Lord your God and are not careful to keep all his commandments and statutes I am giving you today, then all these curses will come upon you in full force:
Deuteronomy 28:16 - You will be cursed in the city and cursed in the field.
Deuteronomy 28:17 - Your basket and your mixing bowl will be cursed.
Deuteronomy 28:18 - Your children will be cursed, as well as the produce of your soil, the calves of your herds, and the lambs of your flocks.
Deuteronomy 28:19 - You will be cursed when you come in and cursed when you go out.
Deuteronomy 28:20 - “The Lord will send on you a curse, confusing you and opposing you in everything you undertake until you are destroyed and quickly perish because of the evil of your deeds, in that you have forsaken me.
Deuteronomy 28:21 - The Lord will plague you with deadly diseases until he has completely removed you from the land you are about to possess.
Deuteronomy 28:22 - He will afflict you with weakness, fever, inflammation, infection, sword, blight, and mildew; these will attack you until you perish.
Deuteronomy 28:23 - The sky above your heads will be bronze and the earth beneath you iron.
Deuteronomy 28:24 - The Lord will make the rain of your land powder and dust; it will come down on you from the sky until you are destroyed.
Deuteronomy 28:25 - “The Lord will allow you to be struck down before your enemies; you will attack them from one direction but flee from them in seven directions and will become an object of terror to all the kingdoms of the earth.
Deuteronomy 28:26 - Your carcasses will be food for every bird of the sky and wild animal of the earth, and there will be no one to chase them off.
Deuteronomy 28:27 - The Lord will afflict you with the boils of Egypt and with tumors, eczema, and scabies, all of which cannot be healed.
Deuteronomy 28:28 - The Lord will also subject you to madness, blindness, and confusion of mind.
Deuteronomy 28:29 - You will feel your way along at noon like the blind person does in darkness and you will not succeed in anything you do; you will be constantly oppressed and continually robbed, with no one to save you.
Deuteronomy 28:30 - You will be engaged to a woman and another man will rape her. You will build a house but not live in it. You will plant a vineyard but not even begin to use it.
Deuteronomy 28:31 - Your ox will be slaughtered before your very eyes but you will not eat of it. Your donkey will be stolen from you as you watch and will not be returned to you. Your flock of sheep will be given to your enemies and there will be no one to save you.
Deuteronomy 28:32 - Your sons and daughters will be given to another people while you look on in vain all day, and you will be powerless to do anything about it.
Deuteronomy 28:33 - As for the produce of your land and all your labor, a people you do not know will consume it, and you will be nothing but oppressed and crushed for the rest of your lives.
Deuteronomy 28:34 - You will go insane from seeing all this.
Deuteronomy 28:35 - The Lord will afflict you in your knees and on your legs with painful, incurable boils – from the soles of your feet to the top of your head.
Deuteronomy 28:36 - The Lord will force you and your king whom you will appoint over you to go away to a people whom you and your ancestors have not known, and you will serve other gods of wood and stone there.
Deuteronomy 28:37 - You will become an occasion of horror, a proverb, and an object of ridicule to all the peoples to whom the Lord will drive you.
Deuteronomy 28:38 - “You will take much seed to the field but gather little harvest, because locusts will consume it.
Deuteronomy 28:39 - You will plant vineyards and cultivate them, but you will not drink wine or gather in grapes, because worms will eat them.
Deuteronomy 28:40 - You will have olive trees throughout your territory but you will not anoint yourself with olive oil, because the olives will drop off the trees while still unripe.
Deuteronomy 28:41 - You will bear sons and daughters but not keep them, because they will be taken into captivity.
Deuteronomy 28:42 - Whirring locusts will take over every tree and all the produce of your soil.
Deuteronomy 28:43 - The foreigners who reside among you will become higher and higher over you and you will become lower and lower.
Deuteronomy 28:44 - They will lend to you but you will not lend to them; they will become the head and you will become the tail!
Deuteronomy 28:45 - All these curses will fall on you, pursuing and overtaking you until you are destroyed, because you would not obey the Lord your God by keeping his commandments and statutes that he has given you.
Deuteronomy 28:46 - These curses will be a perpetual sign and wonder with reference to you and your descendants.
Deuteronomy 28:47 - “Because you have not served the Lord your God joyfully and wholeheartedly with the abundance of everything you have,
Deuteronomy 28:48 - instead in hunger, thirst, nakedness, and poverty you will serve your enemies whom the Lord will send against you. They will place an iron yoke on your neck until they have destroyed you.
Deuteronomy 28:49 - The Lord will raise up a distant nation against you, one from the other side of the earth as the eagle flies, a nation whose language you will not understand,
Deuteronomy 28:50 - a nation of stern appearance that will have no regard for the elderly or pity for the young.
Deuteronomy 28:51 - They will devour the offspring of your livestock and the produce of your soil until you are destroyed. They will not leave you with any grain, new wine, olive oil, calves of your herds, or lambs of your flocks until they have destroyed you.
Deuteronomy 28:52 - They will besiege all of your villages until all of your high and fortified walls collapse – those in which you put your confidence throughout the land. They will besiege all your villages throughout the land the Lord your God has given you.
Deuteronomy 28:53 - You will then eat your own offspring, the flesh of the sons and daughters the Lord your God has given you, because of the severity of the siege by which your enemies will constrict you.
Deuteronomy 28:54 - The man among you who is by nature tender and sensitive will turn against his brother, his beloved wife, and his remaining children.
Deuteronomy 28:55 - He will withhold from all of them his children’s flesh that he is eating (since there is nothing else left), because of the severity of the siege by which your enemy will constrict you in your villages.
Deuteronomy 28:56 - Likewise, the most tender and delicate of your women, who would never think of putting even the sole of her foot on the ground because of her daintiness, will turn against her beloved husband, her sons and daughters,
Deuteronomy 28:57 - and will secretly eat her afterbirth and her newborn children (since she has nothing else), because of the severity of the siege by which your enemy will constrict you in your villages.
Deuteronomy 28:58 - “If you refuse to obey all the words of this law, the things written in this scroll, and refuse to fear this glorious and awesome name, the Lord your God,
Deuteronomy 28:59 - then the Lord will increase your punishments and those of your descendants – great and long-lasting afflictions and severe, enduring illnesses.
Deuteronomy 28:60 - He will infect you with all the diseases of Egypt that you dreaded, and they will persistently afflict you.
Deuteronomy 28:61 - Moreover, the Lord will bring upon you every kind of sickness and plague not mentioned in this scroll of commandments, until you have perished.
Deuteronomy 28:62 - There will be very few of you left, though at one time you were as numerous as the stars in the sky, because you will have disobeyed the Lord your God.
Deuteronomy 28:63 - This is what will happen: Just as the Lord delighted to do good for you and make you numerous, he will take delight in destroying and decimating you. You will be uprooted from the land you are about to possess.
Deuteronomy 28:64 - The Lord will scatter you among all nations, from one end of the earth to the other. There you will worship other gods that neither you nor your ancestors have known, gods of wood and stone.
Deuteronomy 28:65 - Among those nations you will have no rest nor will there be a place of peaceful rest for the soles of your feet, for there the Lord will give you an anxious heart, failing eyesight, and a spirit of despair.
Deuteronomy 28:66 - Your life will hang in doubt before you; you will be terrified by night and day and will have no certainty of surviving from one day to the next.
Deuteronomy 28:67 - In the morning you will say, ‘If only it were evening!’ And in the evening you will say, ‘I wish it were morning!’ because of the things you will fear and the things you will see.
Deuteronomy 28:68 - Then the Lord will make you return to Egypt by ship, over a route I said to you that you would never see again. There you will sell yourselves to your enemies as male and female slaves, but no one will buy you.”
2 Kings 24:2 - The Lord sent against him Babylonian, Syrian, Moabite, and Ammonite raiding bands; he sent them to destroy Judah, as he had warned he would do through his servants the prophets.
2 Kings 24:3 - Just as the Lord had announced, he rejected Judah because of all the sins which Manasseh had committed.
Jeremiah 15:8 - Their widows will become in my sight more numerous than the grains of sand on the seashores. At noontime I will bring a destroyer against the mothers of their young men. I will cause anguish and terror to fall suddenly upon them.
Jeremiah 15:9 - The mother who had seven children will grow faint. All the breath will go out of her. Her pride and joy will be taken from her in the prime of their life. It will seem as if the sun had set while it was still day. She will suffer shame and humiliation. I will cause any of them who are still left alive to be killed in war by the onslaughts of their enemies,” says the Lord.
Jeremiah 39:1 - King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon came against Jerusalem with his whole army and laid siege to it. The siege began in the tenth month of the ninth year that Zedekiah ruled over Judah.
Jeremiah 39:2 - It lasted until the ninth day of the fourth month of Zedekiah’s eleventh year. On that day they broke through the city walls.
Jeremiah 39:3 - Then Nergal-Sharezer of Samgar, Nebo-Sarsekim, who was a chief officer, Nergal-Sharezer, who was a high official, and all the other officers of the king of Babylon came and set up quarters in the Middle Gate.
Jeremiah 39:4 - When King Zedekiah of Judah and all his soldiers saw them, they tried to escape. They departed from the city during the night. They took a path through the king’s garden and passed out through the gate between the two walls. Then they headed for the Jordan Valley.
Jeremiah 39:5 - But the Babylonian army chased after them. They caught up with Zedekiah in the plains of Jericho and captured him. They took him to King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon at Riblah in the territory of Hamath and Nebuchadnezzar passed sentence on him there.
Jeremiah 39:6 - There at Riblah the king of Babylon had Zedekiah’s sons put to death while Zedekiah was forced to watch. The king of Babylon also had all the nobles of Judah put to death.
Jeremiah 39:7 - Then he had Zedekiah’s eyes put out and had him bound in chains to be led off to Babylon.
Jeremiah 39:8 - The Babylonians burned down the royal palace, the temple of the Lord, and the people’s homes, and they tore down the wall of Jerusalem.
Jeremiah 39:9 - Then Nebuzaradan, the captain of the royal guard, took captive the rest of the people who were left in the city. He carried them off to Babylon along with the people who had deserted to him.
Jeremiah 39:10 - But he left behind in the land of Judah some of the poor people who owned nothing. He gave them fields and vineyards at that time.
Jeremiah 39:11 - Now King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon had issued orders concerning Jeremiah. He had passed them on through Nebuzaradan, the captain of his royal guard,
Jeremiah 39:12 - “Find Jeremiah and look out for him. Do not do anything to harm him, but do with him whatever he tells you.”
Jeremiah 39:13 - So Nebuzaradan, the captain of the royal guard, Nebushazban, who was a chief officer, Nergal-Sharezer, who was a high official, and all the other officers of the king of Babylon
Jeremiah 39:14 - sent and had Jeremiah brought from the courtyard of the guardhouse. They turned him over to Gedaliah, the son of Ahikam and the grandson of Shaphan, to take him home with him. But Jeremiah stayed among the people.
Jeremiah 39:15 - Now the Lord had spoken to Jeremiah while he was still confined in the courtyard of the guardhouse,
Jeremiah 39:16 - “Go and tell Ebed-Melech the Ethiopian, ‘The Lord God of Israel who rules over all says, “I will carry out against this city what I promised. It will mean disaster and not good fortune for it. When that disaster happens, you will be there to see it.
Jeremiah 39:17 - But I will rescue you when it happens. I, the Lord, affirm it! You will not be handed over to those whom you fear.
Jeremiah 39:18 - I will certainly save you. You will not fall victim to violence. You will escape with your life because you trust in me. I, the Lord, affirm it!”’”
2 Chronicles 24:21 - They plotted against him and by royal decree stoned him to death in the courtyard of the Lord’s temple.
Deuteronomy 30:18 - I declare to you this very day that you will certainly perish! You will not extend your time in the land you are crossing the Jordan to possess.
Lamentations 2:20 - Look, O Lord! Consider! Whom have you ever afflicted like this? Should women eat their offspring, their healthy infants? Should priest and prophet be killed in the Lord’s sanctuary? ש (Sin/Shin)
Lamentations 2:21 - The young boys and old men lie dead on the ground in the streets. My young women and my young men have fallen by the sword. You killed them when you were angry; you slaughtered them without mercy. ת (Tav)
Lamentations 2:22 - As if it were a feast day, you call enemies to terrify me on every side. On the day of the Lord’s anger no one escaped or survived. My enemy has finished off those healthy infants whom I bore and raised.
Ezra 9:7 - From the days of our fathers until this very day our guilt has been great. Because of our iniquities we, along with our kings and priests, have been delivered over by the local kings to sword, captivity, plunder, and embarrassment – right up to the present time.
Psalms 74:20 - Remember your covenant promises, for the dark regions of the earth are full of places where violence rules.
