  • Exodus 32:1 - When the people saw that Moses was so long in coming down from the mountain, they gathered around Aaron and said, “Come, make us gods who will go before us. As for this fellow Moses who brought us up out of Egypt, we don’t know what has happened to him.”
  • Exodus 16:3 - The Israelites said to them, “If only we had died by the Lord’s hand in Egypt! There we sat around pots of meat and ate all the food we wanted, but you have brought us out into this desert to starve this entire assembly to death.”
  • Psalm 78:56 - But they put God to the test and rebelled against the Most High; they did not keep his statutes.
  • Psalm 78:57 - Like their ancestors they were disloyal and faithless, as unreliable as a faulty bow.

  • Exodus 14:11 - They said to Moses, “Was it because there were no graves in Egypt that you brought us to the desert to die? What have you done to us by bringing us out of Egypt?
  • Exodus 14:12 - Didn’t we say to you in Egypt, ‘Leave us alone; let us serve the Egyptians’? It would have been better for us to serve the Egyptians than to die in the desert!”
  • Psalm 106:34 - They did not destroy the peoples as the Lord had commanded them,
  • Psalm 106:35 - but they mingled with the nations and adopted their customs.
  • Psalm 106:36 - They worshiped their idols, which became a snare to them.
  • Psalm 106:37 - They sacrificed their sons and their daughters to false gods.
  • Psalm 106:38 - They shed innocent blood, the blood of their sons and daughters, whom they sacrificed to the idols of Canaan, and the land was desecrated by their blood.
  • Psalm 106:39 - They defiled themselves by what they did; by their deeds they prostituted themselves.
  • Psalm 106:40 - Therefore the Lord was angry with his people and abhorred his inheritance.
