2 Kings 10:2 - “And now, when this letter comes to you, since your master’s sons are with you, as well as the chariots and horses, and a fortified city and the weapons,
2 Kings 10:3 - select the best and most capable of your master’s sons and seat him on his father’s throne, and fight for your master’s house.”
2 Kings 10:4 - But they feared greatly and said, “Behold, the two kings did not stand firm before him; how then can we stand?”
2 Kings 10:5 - And the one who was in charge of the household, and the one who was in charge of the city, and the elders, and the guardians of the children, sent word to Jehu, saying, “We are your servants, and everything that you tell us we will do. We will not appoint any man king; do what is good in your sight.”
2 Kings 10:6 - Then he wrote them a letter a second time, saying, “If you are on my side, and will listen to my voice, take the heads of the men, your master’s sons, and come to me at Jezreel about this time tomorrow.” Now the king’s sons, seventy men, were with the great people of the city, who were raising them.
2 Kings 10:7 - When the letter came to them, they took the king’s sons and slaughtered them, seventy men, and put their heads in baskets, and sent them to him at Jezreel.
1 Kings 20:7 - Then the king of Israel summoned all the elders of the land and said, “Please be aware and see that this man is looking for trouble; for he sent me his demand for my wives, my children, my silver, and my gold, and I did not refuse him.”
Deuteronomy 16:18 - “You shall appoint for yourself judges and officers in all your towns which the Lord your God is giving you, according to your tribes, and they shall judge the people with righteous judgment.
Deuteronomy 16:19 - You shall not distort justice, you shall not show partiality; and you shall not accept a bribe, because a bribe blinds the eyes of the wise and distorts the words of the righteous.
Deuteronomy 21:1 - “If a person who has been killed by someone is found lying in the open country in the land which the Lord your God is giving you to possess, and it is not known who struck him,
Deuteronomy 21:2 - then your elders and your judges shall go out and measure the distance to the cities which are around the one who was killed.
Deuteronomy 21:3 - And it shall be that the city which is nearest to the person killed, that is, that the elders of that city shall take a heifer of the herd that has not been worked and has not pulled in a yoke;
Deuteronomy 21:4 - and the elders of that city shall bring the heifer down to a valley with running water, which has not been plowed or sown, and they shall break the heifer’s neck there in the valley.
Deuteronomy 21:5 - Then the priests, the sons of Levi, shall come forward, because the Lord your God has chosen them to serve Him and to bless in the name of the Lord; and every dispute and violent crime shall be settled by them.
Deuteronomy 21:6 - And all the elders of that city which is nearest to the person killed shall wash their hands over the heifer whose neck was broken in the valley;
Deuteronomy 21:7 - and they shall respond and say, ‘Our hands did not shed this blood, nor did our eyes see who did.
Deuteronomy 21:8 - Forgive Your people Israel whom You have redeemed, Lord, and do not place the guilt for innocent blood in the midst of Your people Israel.’ And the guilt for bloodshed shall be forgiven them.
Deuteronomy 21:9 - So you shall remove the guilt for innocent blood from your midst, when you do what is right in the eyes of the Lord.
2 Kings 10:11 - So Jehu killed all who remained of the house of Ahab in Jezreel, and all his great men, his acquaintances, and his priests, until he left him without a survivor.

Esther 3:15 - The couriers went out, speeded by the king’s order while the decree was issued at the citadel in Susa; and while the king and Haman sat down to drink, the city of Susa was agitated.
