  • Esther 8:13 - A copy of the edict to be issued as law in each and every province was published to all the peoples, so that the Jews would be ready for this day to avenge themselves on their enemies.
  • 2 Samuel 11:14 - So in the morning David wrote a letter to Joab and sent it by the hand of Uriah.

We will not appoint any man king; do what is good in your sight.”
  • 2 Kings 10:6 - Then he wrote them a letter a second time, saying, “If you are on my side, and will listen to my voice, take the heads of the men, your master’s sons, and come to me at Jezreel about this time tomorrow.” Now the king’s sons, seventy men, were with the great people of the city, who were raising them.
  • 2 Kings 10:7 - When the letter came to them, they took the king’s sons and slaughtered them, seventy men, and put their heads in baskets, and sent them to him at Jezreel.

  • Deuteronomy 21:3 - And it shall be that the city which is nearest to the person killed, that is, that the elders of that city shall take a heifer of the herd that has not been worked and has not pulled in a yoke;
  • Deuteronomy 21:4 - and the elders of that city shall bring the heifer down to a valley with running water, which has not been plowed or sown, and they shall break the heifer’s neck there in the valley.
  • Deuteronomy 21:5 - Then the priests, the sons of Levi, shall come forward, because the Lord your God has chosen them to serve Him and to bless in the name of the Lord; and every dispute and violent crime shall be settled by them.
  • Deuteronomy 21:6 - And all the elders of that city which is nearest to the person killed shall wash their hands over the heifer whose neck was broken in the valley;
  • Deuteronomy 21:7 - and they shall respond and say, ‘Our hands did not shed this blood, nor did our eyes see who did.
  • Deuteronomy 21:8 - Forgive Your people Israel whom You have redeemed, Lord, and do not place the guilt for innocent blood in the midst of Your people Israel.’ And the guilt for bloodshed shall be forgiven them.
  • Deuteronomy 21:9 - So you shall remove the guilt for innocent blood from your midst, when you do what is right in the eyes of the Lord.
  • 2 Kings 10:11 - So Jehu killed all who remained of the house of Ahab in Jezreel, and all his great men, his acquaintances, and his priests, until he left him without a survivor.
  • Nehemiah 6:5 - Then Sanballat sent his servant to me in the same way a fifth time with an open letter in his hand.
