Esther 2:2 - Then the king’s attendants, who served him, said, “Let beautiful young virgins be sought for the king.
Esther 2:3 - And may the king appoint overseers in all the provinces of his kingdom, and have them bring every beautiful young virgin to the citadel of Susa, to the harem, into the custody of Hegai, the king’s eunuch, who is in charge of the women; and let their cosmetics be given to them.
Esther 2:4 - Then let the young woman who pleases the king be queen in place of Vashti.” And the suggestion pleased the king, and he did accordingly.
Exodus 1:14 - and they made their lives bitter with hard labor in mortar and bricks and at all kinds of labor in the field, all their labors which they violently had them perform as slaves.
Exodus 5:5 - Again Pharaoh said, “Look, the people of the land are now many, and you would have them cease from their labors!”
Exodus 5:6 - So the same day Pharaoh commanded the taskmasters over the people and their foremen, saying,
Exodus 5:7 - “You are no longer to give the people straw to make bricks as previously; have them go and gather straw for themselves.
Exodus 5:8 - But you shall impose on them the quota of bricks which they were making before; you are not to reduce any of it. Because they are lazy, for that reason they cry out, ‘Let us go and sacrifice to our God.’
Exodus 5:9 - Let the labor be heavier on the men, and have them work at it so that they will pay no attention to false words.”
1 Kings 12:10 - And the young men who had grown up with him spoke to him, saying, “This is what you should say to this people who spoke to you, saying: ‘Your father made our yoke heavy, now you make it lighter for us!’ You should speak this way to them: ‘My little finger is thicker than my father’s waist!
1 Kings 12:11 - Now then, my father loaded you with a heavy yoke; yet I will add to your yoke. My father disciplined you with whips, but I will discipline you with scorpions!’ ”
Exodus 5:16 - There is no straw given to your servants, yet they keep saying to us, ‘Make bricks!’ And behold, your servants are being beaten; but it is the fault of your own people.”
Exodus 5:17 - But he said, “You are lazy, very lazy; for that reason you say, ‘Let us go and sacrifice to the Lord.’
Exodus 5:18 - So go now and work; for you will be given no straw, but you must deliver the quota of bricks.”
