  • Psalm 89:49 - Lord, where is the great love you used to have? You faithfully promised it to David.
  • 2 Samuel 7:15 - I took my love away from Saul. I removed him from being king. You were there when I did it. But I will never take my love away from your son.
  • 2 Samuel 7:16 - Your royal house and your kingdom will last forever in my sight. Your throne will last forever.” ’ ”
  • Isaiah 62:7 - And don’t give him any rest until he makes Jerusalem secure. Don’t give him any peace until people all over the earth praise that city.
  • Isaiah 14:32 - What answer should be given to the messengers from that nation? Tell them, ‘The Lord has made Zion secure. His suffering people will find safety there.’ ”
  • 1 Chronicles 17:13 - I will be his father. And he will be my son. I took my love away from the man who ruled before you. But I will never take my love away from your son.
  • 1 Chronicles 17:14 - I will place him over my house and my kingdom forever. His throne will last forever.” ’ ”
  • Psalm 132:17 - “Here in Jerusalem I will raise up a mighty king from the family of David. I will set up the lamp of David’s kingdom for my anointed king. Its flame will burn brightly forever.
  • Isaiah 62:1 - The Lord says, “For the good of Zion I will not keep silent. For Jerusalem’s benefit I will not remain quiet. I will not keep silent until what I will do for them shines like the sunrise. I will not remain quiet until they are saved and shine like a blazing torch.
  • Psalm 132:1 - Lord, remember David and all the times he didn’t do what he wanted.
  • Isaiah 9:7 - There will be no limit to how great his authority is. The peace he brings will never end. He will rule on David’s throne and over his kingdom. He will make the kingdom strong and secure. His rule will be based on what is fair and right. It will last forever. The Lord’s great love will make sure that happens. He rules over all.
  • 1 Kings 11:11 - So the Lord said to Solomon, “You have chosen not to keep my covenant. You have decided not to obey my rules. I commanded you to do what I told you. But you did not do it. So you can be absolutely sure I will tear the kingdom away from you. I will give it to one of your officials.
  • 1 Kings 11:12 - But I will not do that while you are still living. Because of your father David I will wait. I will tear the kingdom out of your son’s hand.
  • Jeremiah 33:15 - “Here is what I will do in those days and at that time. I will make a godly Branch grow from David’s royal line. He will do what is fair and right in the land.
  • Jeremiah 33:16 - In those days Judah will be saved. Jerusalem will live in safety. And it will be called The Lord Who Makes Us Right With Himself.”
  • Jeremiah 33:17 - The Lord says, “David will always have a son to sit on the throne of Israel.
  • Jeremiah 33:18 - The priests, who are Levites, will always have a man to serve me. He will sacrifice burnt offerings. He will burn grain offerings. And he will offer sacrifices.”
  • Jeremiah 33:19 - A message from the Lord came to Jeremiah.
  • Jeremiah 33:20 - The Lord said, “Could you ever break my covenant with the day? Could you ever break my covenant with the night? Could you ever stop day and night from coming at their appointed times?
  • Jeremiah 33:21 - Only then could my covenant with my servant David be broken. Only then could my covenant with the Levites who serve me as priests be broken. Only then would David no longer have someone from his family line to rule on his throne.
  • Jeremiah 33:22 - Here is what I will do for my servant David. And here is what I will do for the Levites who serve me. I will make their children after them as many as the stars in the sky. And I will make them as many as the grains of sand on the seashore. It will be impossible to count them.”
  • Jeremiah 33:23 - A message from the Lord came to Jeremiah. The Lord said,
  • Jeremiah 33:24 - “Haven’t you noticed what these people are saying? They say, ‘The Lord once chose the two kingdoms of Israel and Judah. But now he has turned his back on them.’ So they hate my people. They do not think of them as a nation anymore.
  • Jeremiah 33:25 - I say, ‘What if I had not made my covenant with day and night? What if I had not established the laws of heaven and earth?
  • Jeremiah 33:26 - Only then would I turn my back on the children of Jacob and my servant David. Only then would I not choose one of David’s sons to rule over the children of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. But I will bless my people with great success again. I will love them with tender love.’ ”
  • 1 Kings 11:39 - I will punish David’s family because of what Solomon has done. But I will not punish them forever.’ ”
  • 2 Kings 21:4 - He built altars in the Lord’s temple. The Lord had said about his temple, “I will put my Name there in Jerusalem.”
  • Luke 1:32 - He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High God. The Lord God will make him a king like his father David of long ago.
  • Luke 1:33 - The Son of the Most High God will rule forever over his people. They are from the family line of Jacob. That kingdom will never end.”
  • 1 Kings 11:35 - I will take the kingdom out of his son’s hands. And I will give you ten of the tribes.
  • 1 Kings 11:36 - I will give one of the tribes to David’s son. Then my servant David will always have a son on his throne in Jerusalem. The lamp of David’s kingdom will always burn brightly in my sight. Jerusalem is the city I chose for my Name.
  • 2 Kings 19:34 - ‘I will guard this city and save it. I will do it for myself. And I will do it for my servant David.’ ”
  • 2 Kings 13:23 - But the Lord helped Israel. He was tender and kind to them. He showed concern for them. He did all these things because of the covenant he had made with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. To this day he hasn’t been willing to destroy Israel. And he hasn’t driven them out of his land.
  • Deuteronomy 12:5 - Instead, go to the special place he will choose from among all your tribes. He will put his Name there. That’s where you must go.
  • 1 Kings 11:32 - Solomon will have one of its tribes. I will let him keep it because of my servant David and because of Jerusalem. I have chosen that city out of all the cities in the tribes of Israel.
  • Deuteronomy 12:11 - The Lord your God will choose a special place. He will put his Name there. That’s where you must bring everything I command you to bring. That includes your burnt offerings and sacrifices. It includes your special gifts and a tenth of everything you produce. It also includes all the things of value that you promised to give to the Lord.
  • 1 Kings 12:20 - All the Israelites heard that Jeroboam had returned. They sent for him. They wanted him to meet with the whole community. Then they made him king over the entire nation of Israel. Only the tribe of Judah remained true to David’s royal family.
