  • 1 Chronicles 17:13 - I will become his father and he will become my son. I will never withhold my loyal love from him, as I withheld it from the one who ruled before you.
  • 1 Chronicles 17:14 - I will put him in permanent charge of my house and my kingdom; his dynasty will be permanent.”’”
  • Psalms 132:17 - There I will make David strong; I have determined that my chosen king’s dynasty will continue.
  • Isaiah 62:1 - “For the sake of Zion I will not be silent; for the sake of Jerusalem I will not be quiet, until her vindication shines brightly and her deliverance burns like a torch.”
  • Psalms 132:1 - O Lord, for David’s sake remember all his strenuous effort,
  • Isaiah 9:7 - His dominion will be vast and he will bring immeasurable prosperity. He will rule on David’s throne and over David’s kingdom, establishing it and strengthening it by promoting justice and fairness, from this time forward and forevermore. The Lord’s intense devotion to his people will accomplish this.
  • 1 Kings 11:11 - So the Lord said to Solomon, “Because you insist on doing these things and have not kept the covenantal rules I gave you, I will surely tear the kingdom away from you and give it to your servant.
  • 1 Kings 11:12 - However, for your father David’s sake I will not do this while you are alive. I will tear it away from your son’s hand instead.
  • Jeremiah 33:15 - In those days and at that time I will raise up for them a righteous descendant of David. “‘He will do what is just and right in the land.
  • Jeremiah 33:16 - Under his rule Judah will enjoy safety and Jerusalem will live in security. At that time Jerusalem will be called “The Lord has provided us with justice.”
  • Jeremiah 33:17 - For I, the Lord, promise: “David will never lack a successor to occupy the throne over the nation of Israel.
  • Jeremiah 33:18 - Nor will the Levitical priests ever lack someone to stand before me and continually offer up burnt offerings, sacrifice cereal offerings, and offer the other sacrifices.”’”
  • Jeremiah 33:19 - The Lord spoke further to Jeremiah.
  • Jeremiah 33:20 - “I, Lord, make the following promise: ‘I have made a covenant with the day and with the night that they will always come at their proper times. Only if you people could break that covenant
  • Jeremiah 33:21 - could my covenant with my servant David and my covenant with the Levites ever be broken. So David will by all means always have a descendant to occupy his throne as king and the Levites will by all means always have priests who will minister before me.
  • Jeremiah 33:22 - I will make the children who follow one another in the line of my servant David very numerous. I will also make the Levites who minister before me very numerous. I will make them all as numerous as the stars in the sky and as the sands which are on the seashore.’”
  • Jeremiah 33:23 - The Lord spoke still further to Jeremiah.
  • Jeremiah 33:24 - “You have surely noticed what these people are saying, haven’t you? They are saying, ‘The Lord has rejected the two families of Israel and Judah that he chose.’ So they have little regard that my people will ever again be a nation.
  • Jeremiah 33:25 - But I, the Lord, make the following promise: I have made a covenant governing the coming of day and night. I have established the fixed laws governing heaven and earth.
  • Jeremiah 33:26 - Just as surely as I have done this, so surely will I never reject the descendants of Jacob. Nor will I ever refuse to choose one of my servant David’s descendants to rule over the descendants of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Indeed, I will restore them and show mercy to them.”
  • 1 Kings 11:39 - I will humiliate David’s descendants because of this, but not forever.”
  • 2 Kings 21:4 - He built altars in the Lord’s temple, about which the Lord had said, “Jerusalem will be my home.”
  • Luke 1:32 - He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Most High, and the Lord God will give him the throne of his father David.
  • Luke 1:33 - He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and his kingdom will never end.”
  • 1 Kings 11:35 - I will take the kingdom from the hand of his son and give ten tribes to you.
  • 1 Kings 11:36 - I will leave his son one tribe so my servant David’s dynasty may continue to serve me in Jerusalem, the city I have chosen as my home.
  • 2 Kings 19:34 - I will shield this city and rescue it for the sake of my reputation and because of my promise to David my servant.’”
  • 2 Kings 13:23 - But the Lord had mercy on them and felt pity for them. He extended his favor to them because of the promise he had made to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. He has been unwilling to destroy them or remove them from his presence to this very day.
  • Deuteronomy 12:5 - But you must seek only the place he chooses from all your tribes to establish his name as his place of residence, and you must go there.
  • 1 Kings 11:32 - He will retain one tribe, for my servant David’s sake and for the sake of Jerusalem, the city I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel.
  • Deuteronomy 12:11 - Then you must come to the place the Lord your God chooses for his name to reside, bringing everything I am commanding you – your burnt offerings, sacrifices, tithes, the personal offerings you have prepared, and all your choice votive offerings which you devote to him.
