Wherefore let them also that suffer according to the will of God commit their souls in well- doing unto a faithful Creator.

And this is life eternal, that they should know thee the only true God, and him whom thou didst send, even Jesus Christ.

And they shall know that I, Jehovah, their God am with them, and that they, the house of Israel, are my people, saith the Lord Jehovah.And ye my sheep, the sheep of my pasture, are men, and I am your God, saith the Lord Jehovah.

Unto thee it was showed, that thou mightest know that Jehovah he is God; there is none else besides him.

Or know ye not that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which ye have from God? and ye are not your own;for ye were bought with a price: glorify God therefore in your body.

For ye were going astray like sheep; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls.

Thy hands have framed me and fashioned me Together round about; yet thou dost destroy me.Remember, I beseech thee, that thou hast fashioned me as clay; And wilt thou bring me into dust again?Hast thou not poured me out as milk, And curdled me like cheese?Thou hast clothed me with skin and flesh, And knit me together with bones and sinews.Thou hast granted me life and lovingkindness; And thy visitation hath preserved my spirit.Yet these things thou didst hide in thy heart; I know that this is with thee:

For thou didst form my inward parts: Thou didst cover me in my mother’s womb.I will give thanks unto thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: Wonderful are thy works; And that my soul knoweth right well.My frame was not hidden from thee, When I was made in secret, And curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.Thine eyes did see mine unformed substance; And in thy book they were all written, Even the days that were ordained for me, When as yet there was none of them.How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! How great is the sum of them!If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand: When I awake, I am still with thee.Surely thou wilt slay the wicked, O God: Depart from me therefore, ye bloodthirsty men.For they speak against thee wickedly, And thine enemies take thy name in vain.Do not I hate them, O Jehovah, that hate thee? And am not I grieved with those that rise up against thee?I hate them with perfect hatred: They are become mine enemies.Search me, O God, and know my heart: Try me, and know my thoughts;And see if there be any wicked way in me, And lead me in the way everlasting.

So we thy people and sheep of thy pasture Will give thee thanks for ever: We will show forth thy praise to all generations.

Know therefore this day, and lay it to thy heart, that Jehovah he is God in heaven above and upon the earth beneath; there is none else.

Let Israel rejoice in him that made him: Let the children of Zion be joyful in their King.

Howbeit at that time, not knowing God, ye were in bondage to them that by nature are no gods:but now that ye have come to know God, or rather to be known by God, how turn ye back again to the weak and beggarly rudiments, whereunto ye desire to be in bondage over again?

Now therefore, O Jehovah our God, save thou us, I beseech thee, out of his hand, that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that thou Jehovah art God alone.

But he led forth his own people like sheep, And guided them in the wilderness like a flock.

O thou that tellest good tidings to Zion, get thee up on a high mountain; O thou that tellest good tidings to Jerusalem, lift up thy voice with strength; lift it up, be not afraid; say unto the cities of Judah, Behold, your God!Behold, the Lord Jehovah will come as a mighty one, and his arm will rule for him: Behold, his reward is with him, and his recompense before him.He will feed his flock like a shepherd, he will gather the lambs in his arm, and carry them in his bosom, and will gently lead those that have their young.

Know therefore that Jehovah thy God, he is God, the faithful God, who keepeth covenant and lovingkindness with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations,

And it came to pass at the time of the offering of the evening oblation, that Elijah the prophet came near, and said, O Jehovah, the God of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Israel, let it be known this day that thou art God in Israel, and that I am thy servant, and that I have done all these things at thy word.Hear me, O Jehovah, hear me, that this people may know that thou, Jehovah, art God, and that thou hast turned their heart back again.Then the fire of Jehovah fell, and consumed the burnt- offering, and the wood, and the stones, and the dust, and licked up the water that was in the trench.And when all the people saw it, they fell on their faces: and they said, Jehovah, he is God; Jehovah, he is God.

We are become as they over whom thou never barest rule, as they that were not called by thy name.

Tend the flock of God which is among you, exercising the oversight, not of constraint, but willingly, according to the will of God; nor yet for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind;neither as lording it over the charge allotted to you, but making yourselves ensamples to the flock.And when the chief Shepherd shall be manifested, ye shall receive the crown of glory that fadeth not away.

I am the good shepherd; and I know mine own, and mine own know me,even as the Father knoweth me, and I know the Father; and I lay down my life for the sheep.And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and they shall become one flock, one shepherd.

For thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Behold, I myself, even I, will search for my sheep, and will seek them out.

This day will Jehovah deliver thee into my hand; and I will smite thee, and take thy head from off thee; and I will give the dead bodies of the host of the Philistines this day unto the birds of the heavens, and to the wild beasts of the earth; that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel,and that all this assembly may know that Jehovah saveth not with sword and spear: for the battle is Jehovah’s, and he will give you into our hand.

But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep.My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:and I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, and no one shall snatch them out of my hand.

O God, why hast thou cast us off for ever? Why doth thine anger smoke against the sheep of thy pasture?Remember thy congregation, which thou hast gotten of old, Which thou hast redeemed to be the tribe of thine inheritance; And mount Zion, wherein thou hast dwelt.

But Jehovah is the true God; he is the living God, and an everlasting King: at his wrath the earth trembleth, and the nations are not able to abide his indignation.

Take heed unto yourselves, and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit hath made you bishops, to feed the church of the Lord which he purchased with his own blood.I know that after my departing grievous wolves shall enter in among you, not sparing the flock;

Then he remembered the days of old, Moses and his people, saying, Where is he that brought them up out of the sea with the shepherds of his flock? where is he that put his holy Spirit in the midst of them?

Seeing it is God, that said, Light shall shine out of darkness, who shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

For Jehovah is a great God, And a great King above all gods.

Is it good unto thee that thou shouldest oppress, That thou shouldest despise the work of thy hands, And shine upon the counsel of the wicked?

But ye are an elect race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, that ye may show forth the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:

For as I passed along, and observed the objects of your worship, I found also an altar with this inscription, TO AN UNKNOWN GOD. What therefore ye worship in ignorance, this I set forth unto you.The God that made the world and all things therein, he, being Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands;

Remember also thy Creator in the days of thy youth, before the evil days come, and the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them;

Who have said, With our tongue will we prevail; Our lips are our own: who is lord over us?
