當礪矢執盾、主感瑪代君王之心、來攻巴比倫、因主已定其志以滅巴比倫、此主復仇、即為其聖殿復仇、

“ Sharpen the arrows, take up the shields! The Lord has stirred up the kings of the Medes, because his purpose is to destroy Babylon. The Lord will take vengeance, vengeance for his temple.

我是耶和華，別無其二；除我以外沒有神。你雖然不認識我，我卻裝備你；

筵席已擺設，地毯已鋪上，人們又吃又喝——首領們哪，起來！用油擦抹盾牌！

看哪！我要激起米底亞人來攻擊他們。米底亞人不重視銀子，也不喜愛金子；他們的弓箭必把少年人射爛，他們不憐憫婦人腹中的胎兒，他們的眼也不顧惜小孩。

我要把猛禽從東方召來，把成就我籌算的人從遙遠之地召來。我已經說出，就必定使之實現；我計劃了，就必定實行。

我從北方興起一人；他從日出之地而來，他必呼求我的名。他必把掌權者像泥土一樣踐踏，如同陶匠踹踏陶泥。

求你舉步到那長久荒涼之地——在聖所中，仇敵已經做了一切惡事。你的敵人在你的會所中吼叫，設立了自己的標幟為記號；他們像是在樹林中揮斧頭的人；而現在，他們用斧子和錘子，把聖所的雕刻全都擊碎了。他們放火把你的聖所燒成平地，褻瀆了你名的住所。他們心裡說：「我們要徹底制伏這些人！」他們在地上焚燒了神一切的會所。我們看不到自己的標幟，也不再有先知；在我們中間，沒有人知道這要到什麼時候。神哪，敵人的辱罵要到什麼時候呢？仇敵要永久藐視你的名嗎？你為什麼把你的手、把你的右手收回去呢？求你從懷中伸出手，滅絕他們！

萬軍之耶和華要揮動鞭子攻擊他們，就像在俄立磐石那裡擊打米甸人；耶和華的杖要向海伸出，他必像在埃及那樣舉起杖來。

有一個嚴酷的異象向我宣告：「背信者背信，毀滅者行毀滅。以攔哪，上去吧！米底亞啊，圍攻吧！我要使一切的嘆息止住。」

以下是耶和華要降下的災疫，用來擊打所有與耶路撒冷作戰的民族：他們雙腳還站立著，他們的肉體就會腐爛；他們的眼睛必在眼窩裡腐爛，他們的舌頭必在口中腐爛。

耶和華緊拉著居魯士的右手，讓列國降服在他面前，使君王們的腰帶鬆開；又讓門在他面前敞開，使城門也不關閉——耶和華對所膏立的居魯士如此說：

你所看見的那十隻角和那獸，他們將恨惡那淫婦，並且將使她成為荒蕪、赤身露體，又要吃她的肉，而且用火燒掉她。因為神把意念放在他們心中，要他們實現他的目的，要他們行事目的一致，並把十隻角的王權交給那獸，直到神的話語成就。

「看哪，我必使耶路撒冷成為一只酒杯，讓四圍所有的民族都醉得搖搖晃晃！耶路撒冷被圍困的時候，猶大也將被圍困。到那日，我必使耶路撒冷成為萬民的一塊沉重石頭，凡背負它的都必受重傷；地上萬國都將聚集起來攻擊它。」

我要招聚萬國與耶路撒冷作戰，這城將被攻取，房屋被搶掠，女人被強姦；城中的人必有一半被擄去，但剩餘的民不會從城中被剪除。
