若爾中有人智慧不足、則當求之天主、終必如願以償；蓋天主賜人至厚、博愛慈祥、而不事呵叱也。

If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.

If any of you needs wisdom, you should ask God for it. He will give it to you. God gives freely to everyone and doesn’t find fault.

If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.

If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking.

If you remain in me, and my words remain in you, you will ask whatever you desire, and it will be done for you.

I don’t know how to go out or come in.Your servant is among your people which you have chosen, a great people, that can’t be numbered or counted for multitude.Give your servant therefore an understanding heart to judge your people, that I may discern between good and evil; for who is able to judge this great people of yours?”This request pleased the Lord, that Solomon had asked this thing.God said to him,“ Because you have asked this thing, and have not asked for yourself long life, nor have you asked for riches for yourself, nor have you asked for the life of your enemies, but have asked for yourself understanding to discern justice;behold, I have done according to your word. Behold, I have given you a wise and understanding heart; so that there has been no one like you before you, and after you none will arise like you.

“ Ask, and it will be given you. Seek, and you will find. Knock, and it will be opened for you.For everyone who asks receives. He who seeks finds. To him who knocks it will be opened.Or who is there among you, who, if his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone?Or if he asks for a fish, who will give him a serpent?If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him!

Now give me wisdom and knowledge, that I may go out and come in before this people; for who can judge this great people of yours?”

“ In that day you will ask me no questions. Most certainly I tell you, whatever you may ask of the Father in my name, he will give it to you.Until now, you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be made full.

Whatever you will ask in my name, I will do it, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

Seek Yahweh while he may be found. Call on him while he is near.Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts. Let him return to Yahweh, and he will have mercy on him, to our God, for he will freely pardon.

May Yahweh give you discretion and understanding, and put you in charge of Israel; that so you may keep the law of Yahweh your God.

Confess your offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective.

I have filled him with the Spirit of God, in wisdom, and in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all kinds of workmanship,

Behold, I myself have appointed with him Oholiab, the son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan; and in the heart of all who are wise- hearted I have put wisdom, that they may make all that I have commanded you:

so whatever we ask, we receive from him, because we keep his commandments and do the things that are pleasing in his sight.

Jesus answered her,“ If you knew the gift of God, and who it is who says to you,‘ Give me a drink,’ you would have asked him, and he would have given you living water.”

“ I tell you, keep asking, and it will be given you. Keep seeking, and you will find. Keep knocking, and it will be opened to you.For everyone who asks receives. He who seeks finds. To him who knocks it will be opened.“ Which of you fathers, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, he won’t give him a snake instead of a fish, will he?Or if he asks for an egg, he won’t give him a scorpion, will he?If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him?”

But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceful, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.

that they would desire mercies of the God of heaven concerning this secret; that Daniel and his companions would not perish with the rest of the wise men of Babylon.Then the secret was revealed to Daniel in a vision of the night. Then Daniel blessed the God of heaven.Daniel answered,“ Blessed be the name of God forever and ever; for wisdom and might are his.He changes the times and the seasons. He removes kings, and sets up kings. He gives wisdom to the wise, and knowledge to those who have understanding.He reveals the deep and secret things. He knows what is in the darkness, and the light dwells with him.

Then he began to denounce the cities in which most of his mighty works had been done, because they didn’t repent.

Then I said,“ Ah, Lord Yahweh! Behold, I don’t know how to speak; for I am a child.”But Yahweh said to me,“ Don’t say,‘ I am a child;’ for you must go to whomever I send you, and you must say whatever I command you.

“ Whoever is simple, let him turn in here!” As for him who is void of understanding, she says to him,“ Come, eat some of my bread, Drink some of the wine which I have mixed!Leave your simple ways, and live. Walk in the way of understanding.”

Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom can be no variation, nor turning shadow.

“ But where will wisdom be found? Where is the place of understanding?Man doesn’t know its price; Neither is it found in the land of the living.The deep says,‘ It isn’t in me.’ The sea says,‘ It isn’t with me.’It can’t be gotten for gold, neither will silver be weighed for its price.It can’t be valued with the gold of Ophir, with the precious onyx, or the sapphire.Gold and glass can’t equal it, neither will it be exchanged for jewels of fine gold.No mention will be made of coral or of crystal. Yes, the price of wisdom is above rubies.The topaz of Ethiopia will not equal it, nor will it be valued with pure gold.Where then does wisdom come from? Where is the place of understanding?Seeing it is hidden from the eyes of all living, and kept close from the birds of the sky.Destruction and Death say,‘ We have heard a rumor of it with our ears.’“ God understands its way, and he knows its place.For he looks to the ends of the earth, and sees under the whole sky.He establishes the force of the wind. Yes, he measures out the waters by measure.When he made a decree for the rain, and a way for the lightning of the thunder,then he saw it, and declared it. He established it, yes, and searched it out.To man he said,‘ Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom. To depart from evil is understanding.’”

“ Bezalel and Oholiab shall work with every wise- hearted man, in whom Yahweh has put wisdom and understanding to know how to do all the work for the service of the sanctuary, according to all that Yahweh has commanded.”Moses called Bezalel and Oholiab, and every wise- hearted man, in whose heart Yahweh had put wisdom, even everyone whose heart stirred him up to come to the work to do it.They received from Moses all the offering which the children of Israel had brought for the work of the service of the sanctuary, with which to make it. They kept bringing free will offerings to him every morning.All the wise men, who performed all the work of the sanctuary, each came from his work which he did.

to the one a stench from death to death, to the other a sweet aroma from life to life. Who is sufficient for these things?

“ He arose, and came to his father. But while he was still far off, his father saw him, and was moved with compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him.The son said to him,‘ Father, I have sinned against heaven and in your sight. I am no longer worthy to be called your son.’“ But the father said to his servants,‘ Bring out the best robe, and put it on him. Put a ring on his hand, and sandals on his feet.

Afterward he was revealed to the eleven themselves as they sat at the table, and he rebuked them for their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they didn’t believe those who had seen him after he had risen.
