Consult God’s instruction and the testimony of warning. If anyone does not speak according to this word, they have no light of dawn.

Follow what the Lord taught you and said to you through me. People who don’t speak in keeping with these words will have no hope in the morning.

To the teaching and to the testimony! If they will not speak according to this word, it is because they have no dawn.

Look to God’s instructions and teachings! People who contradict his word are completely in the dark.

Go to God’s instruction and testimony! If they do not speak according to this word, there will be no dawn for them.

Then you must recall the LORD’s instructions and the prophetic testimony of what would happen. Certainly they say such things because their minds are spiritually darkened.

Turn to the law and to the covenant! If they don’t speak according to this word, surely there is no morning for them.

And so we have the prophetic word made more sure, to which you do well to pay attention as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star arises in your hearts.

Now go, write it on a tablet in their presence And inscribe it on a scroll, That it may serve in the time to come As a witness forever.For this is a rebellious people, false sons, Sons who refuse to listen To the instruction of the Lord;Who say to the seers,“ You must not see visions”; And to the prophets,“ You must not prophesy the truth to us. Speak to us pleasant words, Prophesy illusions.Get out of the way, turn aside from the path, Stop speaking before us about the Holy One of Israel!”

Bind up the testimony, seal the Law among my disciples.

The wise men are put to shame, They are dismayed and caught; Behold, they have rejected the word of the Lord, So what kind of wisdom do they have?

But for you who fear My name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its wings; and you will go forth and frolic like calves from the stall.

Therefore it will be night for you— without vision, And darkness for you— without divination. The sun will go down on the prophets, And the day will become dark over them.

For if you believed Moses, you would believe Me; for he wrote about Me.But if you do not believe his writings, how will you believe My words?”

You examine the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; and it is those very Scriptures that testify about Me;

and that from childhood you have known the sacred writings which are able to give you the wisdom that leads to salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.All Scripture is inspired by God and beneficial for teaching, for rebuke, for correction, for training in righteousness;so that the man or woman of God may be fully capable, equipped for every good work.

But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. So if the light that is in you is darkness, how great is the darkness!

So let’s learn, let’s press on to know the Lord. His appearance is as sure as the dawn; And He will come to us like the rain, As the spring rain waters the earth.”

The unfolding of Your words gives light; It gives understanding to the simple.

The Law of the Lord is perfect, restoring the soul; The testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple.The precepts of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart; The commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes.

The Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel beforehand to Abraham, saying,“ All the nations will be blessed in you.”So then, those who are of faith are blessed with Abraham, the believer.For all who are of works of the Law are under a curse; for it is written:“ Cursed is everyone who does not abide by all the things written in the book of the Law, to do them.”Now, that no one is justified by the Law before God is evident; for,“ the righteous one will live by faith.”However, the Law is not of faith; on the contrary,“ The person who performs them will live by them.”Christ redeemed us from the curse of the Law, having become a curse for us— for it is written:“ Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”—in order that in Christ Jesus the blessing of Abraham would come to the Gentiles, so that we would receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.Brothers and sisters, I speak in terms of human relations: even though it is only a man’s covenant, yet when it has been ratified, no one sets it aside or adds conditions to it.Now the promises were spoken to Abraham and to his seed. He does not say,“ And to seeds,” as one would in referring to many, but rather as in referring to one,“ And to your seed,” that is, Christ.What I am saying is this: the Law, which came 430 years later, does not invalidate a covenant previously ratified by God, so as to nullify the promise.For if the inheritance is based on law, it is no longer based on a promise; but God has granted it to Abraham by means of a promise.Why the Law then? It was added on account of the violations, having been ordered through angels at the hand of a mediator, until the Seed would come to whom the promise had been made.Now a mediator is not for one party only; but God is only one.Is the Law then contrary to the promises of God? Far from it! For if a law had been given that was able to impart life, then righteousness would indeed have been based on law.But the Scripture has confined everyone under sin, so that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe.But before faith came, we were kept in custody under the Law, being confined for the faith that was destined to be revealed.Therefore the Law has become our guardian to lead us to Christ, so that we may be justified by faith.But now that faith has come, we are no longer under a guardian.For you are all sons and daughters of God through faith in Christ Jesus.For all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ.There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.And if you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s descendants, heirs according to promise.

But the path of the righteous is like the light of dawn That shines brighter and brighter until the full day.

And in vain do they worship Me, Teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’Neglecting the commandment of God, you hold to the tradition of men.”He was also saying to them,“ You are experts at setting aside the commandment of God in order to keep your tradition.

But Jesus answered and said to them,“ You are mistaken, since you do not understand the Scriptures nor the power of God.

Claiming to be wise, they became fools,

Now these people were more noble minded than those in Thessalonica, for they received the word with great eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see whether these things were so.

Hear the word of the Lord, You rulers of Sodom; Listen to the instruction of our God, You people of Gomorrah!

But Abraham* said,‘ They have Moses and the Prophets; let them hear them.’But he said,‘ No, father Abraham, but if someone goes to them from the dead, they will repent!’But he said to him,‘ If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, they will not be persuaded even if someone rises from the dead.’ ”

Tell me, you who want to be under law, do you not listen to the Law?For it is written that Abraham had two sons, one by the slave woman and one by the free woman.

For the one who lacks these qualities is blind or short sighted, having forgotten his purification from his former sins.

And He said to him,“ What is written in the Law? How does it read to you?”
