I delight greatly in the Lord; my soul rejoices in my God. For he has clothed me with garments of salvation and arrayed me in a robe of his righteousness, as a bridegroom adorns his head like a priest, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.

The people of Jerusalem will say,“ We take great delight in the Lord. We are joyful because we belong to our God. He has dressed us with salvation as if it were our clothes. He has put robes of godliness on us. We are like a groom who is dressed up for his wedding. We are like a bride who decorates herself with her jewels.

I will greatly rejoice in the Lord; my soul shall exult in my God, for he has clothed me with the garments of salvation; he has covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decks himself like a priest with a beautiful headdress, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.

I am overwhelmed with joy in the Lord my God! For he has dressed me with the clothing of salvation and draped me in a robe of righteousness. I am like a bridegroom dressed for his wedding or a bride with her jewels.

I rejoice greatly in the LORD, I exult in my God; for he has clothed me with the garments of salvation and wrapped me in a robe of righteousness, as a groom wears a turban and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.

Amen!”Then one of the elders asked me,“ These in white robes— who are they, and where did they come from?”I answered,“ Sir, you know.” And he said,“ These are they who have come out of the great tribulation; they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. Those the Lord has rescued will return. They will enter Zion with singing; everlasting joy will crown their heads. Gladness and joy will overtake them, and sorrow and sighing will flee away. (niv)

“‘ Later I passed by, and when I looked at you and saw that you were old enough for love, I spread the corner of my garment over you and covered your naked body. I gave you my solemn oath and entered into a covenant with you, declares the Sovereign Lord, and you became mine.“‘ I bathed you with water and washed the blood from you and put ointments on you.I clothed you with an embroidered dress and put sandals of fine leather on you. I dressed you in fine linen and covered you with costly garments.I adorned you with jewelry: I put bracelets on your arms and a necklace around your neck,and I put a ring on your nose, earrings on your ears and a beautiful crown on your head.So you were adorned with gold and silver; your clothes were of fine linen and costly fabric and embroidered cloth. Your food was honey, olive oil and the finest flour. You became very beautiful and rose to be a queen.And your fame spread among the nations on account of your beauty, because the splendor I had given you made your beauty perfect, declares the Sovereign Lord.“‘ But you trusted in your beauty and used your fame to become a prostitute. You lavished your favors on anyone who passed by and your beauty became his.You took some of your garments to make gaudy high places, where you carried on your prostitution. You went to him, and he possessed your beauty. (niv)

“ But the father said to his servants,‘ Quick! Bring the best robe and put it on him. Put a ring on his finger and sandals on his feet. (niv)

“ Now arise, Lord God, and come to your resting place, you and the ark of your might. May your priests, Lord God, be clothed with salvation, may your faithful people rejoice in your goodness. (niv)

for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. (niv)

Awake, awake, Zion, clothe yourself with strength! Put on your garments of splendor, Jerusalem, the holy city. The uncircumcised and defiled will not enter you again. (niv)

Not only is this so, but we also boast in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation. (niv)

This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile, (niv)

Make sacred garments for your brother Aaron to give him dignity and honor.Tell all the skilled workers to whom I have given wisdom in such matters that they are to make garments for Aaron, for his consecration, so he may serve me as priest.These are the garments they are to make: a breastpiece, an ephod, a robe, a woven tunic, a turban and a sash. They are to make these sacred garments for your brother Aaron and his sons, so they may serve me as priests.Have them use gold, and blue, purple and scarlet yarn, and fine linen.“ Make the ephod of gold, and of blue, purple and scarlet yarn, and of finely twisted linen— the work of skilled hands.It is to have two shoulder pieces attached to two of its corners, so it can be fastened.Its skillfully woven waistband is to be like it— of one piece with the ephod and made with gold, and with blue, purple and scarlet yarn, and with finely twisted linen.“ Take two onyx stones and engrave on them the names of the sons of Israelin the order of their birth— six names on one stone and the remaining six on the other.Engrave the names of the sons of Israel on the two stones the way a gem cutter engraves a seal. Then mount the stones in gold filigree settingsand fasten them on the shoulder pieces of the ephod as memorial stones for the sons of Israel. Aaron is to bear the names on his shoulders as a memorial before the Lord.Make gold filigree settingsand two braided chains of pure gold, like a rope, and attach the chains to the settings.“ Fashion a breastpiece for making decisions— the work of skilled hands. Make it like the ephod: of gold, and of blue, purple and scarlet yarn, and of finely twisted linen.It is to be square— a span long and a span wide— and folded double.Then mount four rows of precious stones on it. The first row shall be carnelian, chrysolite and beryl;the second row shall be turquoise, lapis lazuli and emerald;the third row shall be jacinth, agate and amethyst;the fourth row shall be topaz, onyx and jasper. Mount them in gold filigree settings.There are to be twelve stones, one for each of the names of the sons of Israel, each engraved like a seal with the name of one of the twelve tribes.“ For the breastpiece make braided chains of pure gold, like a rope.Make two gold rings for it and fasten them to two corners of the breastpiece.Fasten the two gold chains to the rings at the corners of the breastpiece,and the other ends of the chains to the two settings, attaching them to the shoulder pieces of the ephod at the front.Make two gold rings and attach them to the other two corners of the breastpiece on the inside edge next to the ephod.Make two more gold rings and attach them to the bottom of the shoulder pieces on the front of the ephod, close to the seam just above the waistband of the ephod.The rings of the breastpiece are to be tied to the rings of the ephod with blue cord, connecting it to the waistband, so that the breastpiece will not swing out from the ephod.“ Whenever Aaron enters the Holy Place, he will bear the names of the sons of Israel over his heart on the breastpiece of decision as a continuing memorial before the Lord.Also put the Urim and the Thummim in the breastpiece, so they may be over Aaron’s heart whenever he enters the presence of the Lord. Thus Aaron will always bear the means of making decisions for the Israelites over his heart before the Lord.“ Make the robe of the ephod entirely of blue cloth,with an opening for the head in its center. There shall be a woven edge like a collar around this opening, so that it will not tear.Make pomegranates of blue, purple and scarlet yarn around the hem of the robe, with gold bells between them.The gold bells and the pomegranates are to alternate around the hem of the robe.Aaron must wear it when he ministers. The sound of the bells will be heard when he enters the Holy Place before the Lord and when he comes out, so that he will not die.“ Make a plate of pure gold and engrave on it as on a seal: holy to the Lord.Fasten a blue cord to it to attach it to the turban; it is to be on the front of the turban.It will be on Aaron’s forehead, and he will bear the guilt involved in the sacred gifts the Israelites consecrate, whatever their gifts may be. It will be on Aaron’s forehead continually so that they will be acceptable to the Lord.“ Weave the tunic of fine linen and make the turban of fine linen. The sash is to be the work of an embroiderer.Make tunics, sashes and caps for Aaron’s sons to give them dignity and honor.After you put these clothes on your brother Aaron and his sons, anoint and ordain them. Consecrate them so they may serve me as priests.“ Make linen undergarments as a covering for the body, reaching from the waist to the thigh.Aaron and his sons must wear them whenever they enter the tent of meeting or approach the altar to minister in the Holy Place, so that they will not incur guilt and die.“ This is to be a lasting ordinance for Aaron and his descendants. All your robes are fragrant with myrrh and aloes and cassia; from palaces adorned with ivory the music of the strings makes you glad.Daughters of kings are among your honored women; at your right hand is the royal bride in gold of Ophir. (niv)

One of the seven angels who had the seven bowls full of the seven last plagues came and said to me,“ Come, I will show you the bride, the wife of the Lamb.” (niv)

Then the servant brought out gold and silver jewelry and articles of clothing and gave them to Rebekah; he also gave costly gifts to her brother and to her mother. (niv)

Surrounding the throne were twenty-four other thrones, and seated on them were twenty-four elders. They were dressed in white and had crowns of gold on their heads. (niv)
