Scoundrels use wicked methods, they make up evil schemes to destroy the poor with lies, even when the plea of the needy is just.

Those who are worthless use sinful methods. They make evil plans against poor people. They destroy them with their lies. They do it even when those people are right.

As for the scoundrel— his devices are evil; he plans wicked schemes to ruin the poor with lying words, even when the plea of the needy is right.

The smooth tricks of scoundrels are evil. They plot crooked schemes. They lie to convict the poor, even when the cause of the poor is just.

The scoundrel’s weapons are destructive; he hatches plots to destroy the needy with lies, even when the poor person says what is right.

Also the schemes of the schemer are evil; He devises wicked plans To destroy the poor with lying words, Even when the needy speaks justice.

And the instruments of the churl are evil: he deviseth wicked devices to destroy the meek with lying words, even when the needy speaketh right.

Who declare the wicked innocent for a bribe, And take away the rights of the ones who are in the right!

Then one of the twelve, named Judas Iscariot, went to the chief priestsand said,“ What are you willing to give me to betray Him to you?” And they set out for him thirty pieces of silver.And from then on he looked for a good opportunity to betray Jesus.

Then they secretly induced men to say,“ We have heard him speak blasphemous words against Moses and God.”And they stirred up the people, the elders, and the scribes, and they came up to him and dragged him away, and brought him before the Council.They put forward false witnesses who said,“ This man does not stop speaking against this holy place and the Law;

How long will you judge unjustly And show partiality to the wicked? SelahVindicate the weak and fatherless; Do justice to the afflicted and destitute.Rescue the weak and needy; Save them from the hand of the wicked.They do not know nor do they understand; They walk around in darkness; All the foundations of the earth are shaken.

His mouth is full of cursing, deceit, and oppression; Under his tongue is harm and injustice.He sits in the lurking places of the villages; He kills the innocent in the secret places; His eyes surreptitiously watch for the unfortunate.He lurks in secret like a lion in his lair; He lurks to catch the needy; He catches the needy when he pulls him into his net.Then he crushes the needy one, who cowers; And unfortunate people fall by his mighty power.

Your rulers are rebels And companions of thieves; Everyone loves a bribe And chases after gifts. They do not obtain justice for the orphan, Nor does the widow’s case come before them.

The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, Because the Lord anointed me To bring good news to the humble; He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, To proclaim release to captives And freedom to prisoners;

For your hands are defiled with blood, And your fingers with wrongdoing; Your lips have spoken deceit, Your tongue mutters wickedness.No one sues righteously and no one pleads honestly. They trust in confusion and speak lies; They conceive trouble and give birth to disaster.

Now the chief priests and the entire Council kept trying to obtain false testimony against Jesus, so that they might put Him to death.They did not find any, even though many false witnesses came forward. But later on two came forward,

If someone walking after wind and falsehood Had lied and said,‘ I will prophesy to you about wine and liquor,’ He would become a prophet to this people.

and they plotted together to arrest Jesus covertly and kill Him.

Then they said,“ Come and let’s devise plans against Jeremiah. Certainly the Law is not going to be lost by the priest, nor advice by the wise, nor the divine word by the prophet! Come, and let’s strike at him with our tongue, and let’s pay no attention to any of his words.”

To shoot from concealment at the innocent; Suddenly they shoot at him, and do not fear.They make firm for themselves an evil purpose; They talk of setting snares secretly; They say,“ Who can see them?”They devise injustices, saying,“ We are ready with a well conceived plot”; For the inward thought and the heart of a person are deep.

The godly person has perished from the land, And there is no upright person among mankind. All of them lie in wait for bloodshed; Each of them hunts the other with a net.As for evil, both hands do it well. The leader asks for a bribe, also the judge, And the great one speaks the capricious desire of his soul; So they plot it together.

and seat two worthless men opposite him, and have them testify against him, saying,‘ You cursed God and the king.’ Then take him out and stone him to death.”So the men of his city, the elders and the nobles who lived in his city, did just as Jezebel had sent word to them, just as it was written in the letters which she had sent them.They proclaimed a fast, and seated Naboth at the head of the people.Then the two worthless men came in and sat opposite him; and the worthless men testified against him, against Naboth, before the people, saying,“ Naboth cursed God and the king.” So they took him outside the city and stoned him to death with stones.Then they sent word to Jezebel, saying,“ Naboth has been stoned and is dead.”
