Then our sons will be like plants, that quickly grow to full size. Our daughters will be like corner pillars, carved like those in a palace.Our storehouses will be full, providing all kinds of food. Our sheep will multiply by the thousands and fill our pastures.Our cattle will be weighted down with produce. No one will break through our walls, no one will be taken captive, and there will be no terrified cries in our city squares.

I will sprinkle you with pure water and you will be clean from all your impurities. I will purify you from all your idols.I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you. I will remove the heart of stone from your body and give you a heart of flesh.

The seven good cows represent seven years, and the seven good heads of grain represent seven years. Both dreams have the same meaning.

At that time the crops given by the LORD will bring admiration and honor; the produce of the land will be a source of pride and delight to those who remain in Israel.

The rain and snow fall from the sky and do not return, but instead water the earth and make it produce and yield crops, and provide seed for the planter and food for those who must eat.In the same way, the promise that I make does not return to me, having accomplished nothing. No, it is realized as I desire and is fulfilled as I intend.”

But for you who respect my name, the sun of vindication will rise with healing wings, and you will skip about like calves released from the stall.

Do any of the worthless idols of the nations cause rain to fall? Do the skies themselves send showers? Is it not you, O Lord our God, who does this? So we put our hopes in you because you alone do all this.”

I will make it a wasteland; no one will prune its vines or hoe its ground, and thorns and briers will grow there. I will order the clouds not to drop any rain on it.

“ I withheld rain from you three months before the harvest. I gave rain to one city, but not to another. One field would get rain, but the field that received no rain dried up.People from two or three cities staggered into one city to get water, but remained thirsty. Still you did not come back to me.” The LORD is speaking!

But above all pursue his kingdom and righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

As for his people, he turned a desert into a pool of water, and a dry land into springs of water.He allowed the hungry to settle there, and they established a city in which to live.They cultivated fields, and planted vineyards, which yielded a harvest of fruit.He blessed them so that they became very numerous. He would not allow their cattle to decrease in number.

Israel has rebelled like a stubborn heifer! Soon the LORD will put them out to pasture like a lamb in a broad field!

During the seven years of abundance the land produced large, bountiful harvests.
