God said,“ Let there be a huge space between the waters. Let it separate water from water.”

Can you help God spread out the skies? They are as hard as a mirror that’s made out of bronze.

The Lord wraps himself in light as if it were a robe. He spreads out the heavens like a tent.

“ I used my power to make the earth. I used my wisdom to set the world in place. I used my understanding to spread out the heavens.

The heavens were made when the Lord commanded it to happen. All the stars were created by the breath of his mouth.

He spreads out the northern skies over empty space. He hangs the earth over nothing.He wraps up water in his clouds. They are heavy, but they don’t burst.

He spoke, and the world came into being. He commanded, and it stood firm.

But God used his power to make the earth. His wisdom set the world in place. His understanding spread out the heavens.When he thunders, the waters in the heavens roar. He makes clouds rise from one end of the earth to the other. He sends lightning along with the rain. He brings the wind out from his storerooms.

By his understanding he made the heavens. His faithful love continues forever.He spread out the earth on the waters. His faithful love continues forever.

God said,“ Let the seas be filled with living things. Let birds fly above the earth across the huge space of the sky.”

This is a prophecy. It is the Lord’ s message about Israel. The Lord spreads out the heavens. He lays the foundation of the earth. He creates the human spirit within a person. He says,

The heavens tell about the glory of God. The skies show that his hands created them.

Noah was 600 years old. It was the 17th day of the second month of the year. On that day all of the springs at the bottom of the oceans burst open. God opened the windows of the sky.Rain fell on the earth for 40 days and 40 nights.

Clouds that are full of water pour rain down on the earth. A tree might fall to the south or the north. It will stay in the place where it falls.

“ Have you entered the places where the snow is kept? Have you seen the storerooms for the hail?I store up snow and hail for times of trouble. I keep them for days of war and battle.Where does lightning come from? Where do the east winds live that blow across the earth?Who tells the rain where it should fall? Who makes paths for the thunderstorms?They bring water to places where no one lives. They water deserts that do not have anyone in them.

His breath made the skies bright and clear. His hand wounded the serpent that glides through the sea.

He loads the clouds with moisture. He scatters his lightning through them.

God said,“ Let there be lights in the huge space of the sky. Let them separate the day from the night. Let the lights set the times for the holy celebrations and the days and the years.

Praise him, you highest heavens. Praise him, you waters above the skies.

But you are the only true God. You are the only living God. You are the King who rules forever. When you are angry, the earth trembles with fear. The nations can’t stand up under your anger.

Praise the Lord. Praise God in his holy temple. Praise him in his mighty heavens.
