God made two great lights— the larger one to govern the day, and the smaller one to govern the night. He also made the stars.

When I look at the night sky and see the work of your fingers— the moon and the stars you set in place—

Look up into the heavens. Who created all the stars? He brings them out like an army, one after another, calling each by its name. Because of his great power and incomparable strength, not a single one is missing.

Let every created thing give praise to the Lord, for he issued his command, and they came into being.

Praise him, sun and moon! Praise him, all you twinkling stars!

Both day and night belong to you; you made the starlight and the sun.

as the morning stars sang together and all the angels shouted for joy?

Then the fourth angel poured out his bowl on the sun, causing it to scorch everyone with its fire.Everyone was burned by this blast of heat, and they cursed the name of God, who had control over all these plagues. They did not repent of their sins and turn to God and give him glory.

The sun and moon stood still in the sky as your brilliant arrows flew and your glittering spear flashed.

The sun has one kind of glory, while the moon and stars each have another kind. And even the stars differ from each other in their glory.

Is this event not recorded in The Book of Jashar? The sun stayed in the middle of the sky, and it did not set as on a normal day.There has never been a day like this one before or since, when the Lord answered such a prayer. Surely the Lord fought for Israel that day!

Then the glory of the moon will wane, and the brightness of the sun will fade, for the Lord of Heaven’s Armies will rule on Mount Zion. He will rule in great glory in Jerusalem, in the sight of all the leaders of his people.

The heavens will be black above them; the stars will give no light. The sun will be dark when it rises, and the moon will provide no light.

The sun rises at one end of the heavens and follows its course to the other end. Nothing can hide from its heat.

At noon, darkness fell across the whole land until three o’clock.

“ Have I looked at the sun shining in the skies, or the moon walking down its silver pathway,

I create the light and make the darkness. I send good times and bad times. I, the Lord, am the one who does these things.
