I, Paul, am writing this letter. I am an apostle. People have not sent me. No human authority has sent me. I have been sent by Jesus Christ and by God the Father. God raised Jesus from the dead.

This letter is from Paul, an apostle. I was not appointed by any group of people or any human authority, but by Jesus Christ himself and by God the Father, who raised Jesus from the dead.

For I would have you know, brothers, that the gospel that was preached by me is not man’s gospel.For I did not receive it from any man, nor was I taught it, but I received it through a revelation of Jesus Christ.

But the Lord said to him,“ Go, for he is a chosen instrument of mine to carry my name before the Gentiles and kings and the children of Israel.For I will show him how much he must suffer for the sake of my name.”

Paul, a servant of Christ Jesus, called to be an apostle, set apart for the gospel of God,

and at the proper time manifested in his word through the preaching with which I have been entrusted by the command of God our Savior;

and from Jesus Christ the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead, and the ruler of kings on earth. To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood

Paul, called by the will of God to be an apostle of Christ Jesus, and our brother Sosthenes,

And he said,‘ The God of our fathers appointed you to know his will, to see the Righteous One and to hear a voice from his mouth;for you will be a witness for him to everyone of what you have seen and heard.And now why do you wait? Rise and be baptized and wash away your sins, calling on his name.’“ When I had returned to Jerusalem and was praying in the temple, I fell into a tranceand saw him saying to me,‘ Make haste and get out of Jerusalem quickly, because they will not accept your testimony about me.’And I said,‘ Lord, they themselves know that in one synagogue after another I imprisoned and beat those who believed in you.And when the blood of Stephen your witness was being shed, I myself was standing by and approving and watching over the garments of those who killed him.’And he said to me,‘ Go, for I will send you far away to the Gentiles.’”

because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

Now may the God of peace who brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great shepherd of the sheep, by the blood of the eternal covenant,

But rise and stand upon your feet, for I have appeared to you for this purpose, to appoint you as a servant and witness to the things in which you have seen me and to those in which I will appear to you,delivering you from your people and from the Gentiles— to whom I am sending youto open their eyes, so that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me.’

To me, though I am the very least of all the saints, this grace was given, to preach to the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ,

in accordance with the gospel of the glory of the blessed God with which I have been entrusted.I thank him who has given me strength, Christ Jesus our Lord, because he judged me faithful, appointing me to his service,though formerly I was a blasphemer, persecutor, and insolent opponent. But I received mercy because I had acted ignorantly in unbelief,and the grace of our Lord overflowed for me with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus.

And I said,‘ What shall I do, Lord?’ And the Lord said to me,‘ Rise, and go into Damascus, and there you will be told all that is appointed for you to do.’

But rise and enter the city, and you will be told what you are to do.”

Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God according to the promise of the life that is in Christ Jesus,

and what is the immeasurable greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to the working of his great mightthat he worked in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly places,

“ And to the angel of the church in Smyrna write:‘ The words of the first and the last, who died and came to life.

and was declared to be the Son of God in power according to the Spirit of holiness by his resurrection from the dead, Jesus Christ our Lord,through whom we have received grace and apostleship to bring about the obedience of faith for the sake of his name among all the nations,

but for ours also. It will be counted to us who believe in him who raised from the dead Jesus our Lord,who was delivered up for our trespasses and raised for our justification.

So Jesus said to them,“ Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of his own accord, but only what he sees the Father doing. For whatever the Father does, that the Son does likewise.

I and the Father are one.”

and the living one. I died, and behold I am alive forevermore, and I have the keys of Death and Hades.

Jesus said to them again,“ Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, even so I am sending you.”

And Jesus came and said to them,“ All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

who through him are believers in God, who raised him from the dead and gave him glory, so that your faith and hope are in God.

While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said,“ Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.”Then after fasting and praying they laid their hands on them and sent them off.So, being sent out by the Holy Spirit, they went down to Seleucia, and from there they sailed to Cyprus.

For to this end Christ died and lived again, that he might be Lord both of the dead and of the living.

nor did I go up to Jerusalem to those who were apostles before me, but I went away into Arabia, and returned again to Damascus.

Are we beginning to commend ourselves again? Or do we need, as some do, letters of recommendation to you, or from you?You yourselves are our letter of recommendation, written on our hearts, to be known and read by all.And you show that you are a letter from Christ delivered by us, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts.

“ Brothers, the Scripture had to be fulfilled, which the Holy Spirit spoke beforehand by the mouth of David concerning Judas, who became a guide to those who arrested Jesus.For he was numbered among us and was allotted his share in this ministry.”( Now this man acquired a field with the reward of his wickedness, and falling headlong he burst open in the middle and all his bowels gushed out.And it became known to all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so that the field was called in their own language Akeldama, that is, Field of Blood.)“ For it is written in the Book of Psalms,“‘ May his camp become desolate, and let there be no one to dwell in it’; and“‘ Let another take his office.’So one of the men who have accompanied us during all the time that the Lord Jesus went in and out among us,beginning from the baptism of John until the day when he was taken up from us— one of these men must become with us a witness to his resurrection.”And they put forward two, Joseph called Barsabbas, who was also called Justus, and Matthias.And they prayed and said,“ You, Lord, who know the hearts of all, show which one of these two you have chosento take the place in this ministry and apostleship from which Judas turned aside to go to his own place.”And they cast lots for them, and the lot fell on Matthias, and he was numbered with the eleven apostles.

God raised him up, loosing the pangs of death, because it was not possible for him to be held by it.For David says concerning him,“‘ I saw the Lord always before me, for he is at my right hand that I may not be shaken;therefore my heart was glad, and my tongue rejoiced; my flesh also will dwell in hope.For you will not abandon my soul to Hades, or let your Holy One see corruption.You have made known to me the paths of life; you will make me full of gladness with your presence.’“ Brothers, I may say to you with confidence about the patriarch David that he both died and was buried, and his tomb is with us to this day.Being therefore a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him that he would set one of his descendants on his throne,he foresaw and spoke about the resurrection of the Christ, that he was not abandoned to Hades, nor did his flesh see corruption.This Jesus God raised up, and of that we all are witnesses.

and you killed the Author of life, whom God raised from the dead. To this we are witnesses.
