亞倫的兒子拿答和亞比戶各拿着自己的香爐，把火放在爐裏，加上香，在耶和華面前獻上凡火，是耶和華沒有吩咐他們的。有火從耶和華面前出來，把他們吞滅，他們就死在耶和華面前。於是，摩西對亞倫說：「這就是耶和華所吩咐的，說：『我在那親近我的人中要顯為聖；在全體百姓面前，我要得着榮耀。』」亞倫就默默不言。

到了拿艮的禾場，因為牛失前蹄，烏撒就伸手扶住神的約櫃。耶和華的怒氣向烏撒發作；神因這冒犯在那裏擊打他，他就死在那裏，在神的約櫃旁。大衛因耶和華突然衝出撞死烏撒就生氣，稱那地方為毗列斯‧烏撒，直到今日。

如今你們若真的聽從我的話，遵守我的約，就要在萬民中作屬我的子民，因為全地都是我的。

離開吧！離開吧！你們要從巴比倫出來。你們扛抬耶和華器皿的人哪，不要沾染不潔淨之物，離去時務要保持潔淨。

二月十四日，他們宰了逾越節的羔羊。祭司與利未人覺得慚愧，就使自己分別為聖，把燔祭奉到耶和華的殿中。
