Was it not necessary for the Christ to suffer these things and to come into His glory?”

For the days will come upon you when your enemies will put up a barricade against you, and surround you and hem you in on every side,and they will level you to the ground, and throw down your children within you, and they will not leave in you one stone upon another, because you did not recognize the time of your visitation.”

But He responded and said to them,“ Do you not see all these things? Truly I say to you, not one stone here will be left upon another, which will not be torn down.”

“ And his sons will mobilize and assemble a multitude of great forces; and one of them will keep on coming and overflow and pass through, so that he may again wage war up to his fortress.

My strength is dried up like a piece of pottery, And my tongue clings to my jaws; And You lay me in the dust of death.

and He said to them,“ So it is written, that the Christ would suffer and rise from the dead on the third day,

And the Lord said,“ Name him Lo ammi, because you are not My people, and I am not your God.”

Who is this that rises like the Nile, Like the rivers whose waters surge?

And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all people to Myself.”Now He was saying this to indicate what kind of death He was going to die.The crowd then answered Him,“ We have heard from the Law that the Christ is to remain forever; and how is it that You say,‘ The Son of Man must be lifted up’? He made Him who knew no sin to be sin in our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

“ The kingdom of heaven is like a king who held a wedding feast for his son.

I will not speak much more with you, for the ruler of the world is coming, and he has nothing in regard to Me,

and they will fall by the edge of the sword, and will be led captive into all the nations; and Jerusalem will be trampled underfoot by the Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.

And you will be hearing of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not alarmed, for those things must take place, but that is not yet the end.For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines and earthquakes in various places.But all these things are merely the beginning of birth pains.“ Then they will hand you over to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations because of My name.And at that time many will fall away, and they will betray one another and hate one another.And many false prophets will rise up and mislead many people.And because lawlessness is increased, most people’s love will become cold.But the one who endures to the end is the one who will be saved.This gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all the nations, and then the end will come.

When you hear of wars and rumors of wars, do not be alarmed; those things must take place; but that is not yet the end.

Because of this will the land not quake, And everyone who lives in it mourn? Indeed, all of it will rise up like the Nile, And it will be tossed about And subside like the Nile of Egypt.

And he will confirm a covenant with the many for one week, but in the middle of the week he will put a stop to sacrifice and grain offering; and on the wing of abominations will come the one who makes desolate, until a complete destruction, one that is decreed, gushes forth on the one who makes desolate.”

Behold, your house is being left to you desolate!

The Lord God of armies, The One who touches the land so that it quakes, And all those who live in it mourn, And all of it rises up like the Nile And subsides like the Nile of Egypt;

For you have been called for this purpose, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, so that you would follow in His steps,
