My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry,

Instruct the wise and they will be wiser still; teach the righteous and they will add to their learning.The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.

And we also thank God continually because, when you received the word of God, which you heard from us, you accepted it not as a human word, but as it actually is, the word of God, which is indeed at work in you who believe.

But many who are first will be last, and many who are last will be first.
