Approach me! Listen to this! From the very first I have not spoken in secret; when it happens, I am there.” So now, the sovereign LORD has sent me, accompanied by his spirit.

“ A protector comes to Zion, to those in Jacob who repent of their rebellious deeds,” says the LORD.“ As for me, this is my promise to them,” says the LORD.“ My spirit, who is upon you, and my words, which I have placed in your mouth, will not depart from your mouth or from the mouths of your children and descendants from this time forward,” says the LORD.

Because Jesus knew that the Father had handed all things over to him, and that he had come from God and was going back to God,

because you have been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the cornerstone.

For we have all received from his fullness one gracious gift after another.

Now when the days drew near for him to be taken up, Jesus set out resolutely to go to Jerusalem.

I came from the Father and entered into the world, but in turn, I am leaving the world and going back to the Father.”

Now during the blessing he departed and was taken up into heaven.

Just before the Passover Feast, Jesus knew that his time had come to depart from this world to the Father. Having loved his own who were in the world, he now loved them to the very end.

For Christ did not enter a sanctuary made with hands– the representation of the true sanctuary– but into heaven itself, and he appears now in God’s presence for us.

Therefore it says,“ When he ascended on high he captured captives; he gave gifts to men.”Now what is the meaning of“ he ascended,” except that he also descended to the lower regions, namely, the earth?He, the very one who descended, is also the one who ascended above all the heavens, in order to fill all things.

“ Here is my servant whom I support, my chosen one in whom I take pleasure. I have placed my spirit on him; he will make just decrees for the nations.

But now I am coming to you, and I am saying these things in the world, so they may experience my joy completed in themselves.

The spirit of the sovereign LORD is upon me, because the LORD has chosen me. He has commissioned me to encourage the poor, to help the brokenhearted, to decree the release of captives, and the freeing of prisoners,

Then what if you see the Son of Man ascending where he was before?

The revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show his servants what must happen very soon. He made it clear by sending his angel to his servant John,

and said,“ Men of Galilee, why do you stand here looking up into the sky? This same Jesus who has been taken up from you into heaven will come back in the same way you saw him go into heaven.”

but God raised him up on the third day and caused him to be seen,not by all the people, but by us, the witnesses God had already chosen, who ate and drank with him after he rose from the dead.He commanded us to preach to the people and to warn them that he is the one appointed by God as judge of the living and the dead.

He said to them,“ Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.The one who believes and is baptized will be saved, but the one who does not believe will be condemned.These signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new languages;they will pick up snakes with their hands, and whatever poison they drink will not harm them; they will place their hands on the sick and they will be well.”After the Lord Jesus had spoken to them, he was taken up into heaven and sat down at the right hand of God.

But if I cast out demons by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God has already overtaken you.

From Paul, an apostle( not from men, nor by human agency, but by Jesus Christ and God the Father who raised him from the dead)

Jesus replied,“ Do not touch me, for I have not yet ascended to my Father. Go to my brothers and tell them,‘ I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’”

The wall of the city has twelve foundations, and on them are the twelve names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.

We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, sure and steadfast, which reaches inside behind the curtain,where Jesus our forerunner entered on our behalf, since he became a priest forever in the order of Melchizedek.

So because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I am going to vomit you out of my mouth!

Then the apostles gathered around Jesus and told him everything they had done and taught.

Jesus replied,“ Didn’t I choose you, the twelve, and yet one of you is the devil?”

The LORD’s spirit will rest on him– a spirit that gives extraordinary wisdom, a spirit that provides the ability to execute plans, a spirit that produces absolute loyalty to the LORD.He will take delight in obeying the LORD. He will not judge by mere appearances, or make decisions on the basis of hearsay.

Then he opened their minds so they could understand the scriptures,and said to them,“ Thus it stands written that the Christ would suffer and would rise from the dead on the third day,and repentance for the forgiveness of sins would be proclaimed in his name to all nations, beginning from Jerusalem.You are witnesses of these things.And look, I am sending you what my Father promised. But stay in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high.”

He appointed twelve( whom he named apostles), so that they would be with him and he could send them to preachand to have authority to cast out demons.He appointed twelve: To Simon he gave the name Peter;to James and his brother John, the sons of Zebedee, he gave the name Boanerges( that is,“ sons of thunder”);and Andrew, Philip, Bartholomew, Matthew, Thomas, James the son of Alphaeus, Thaddaeus, Simon the Zealot,and Judas Iscariot, who betrayed him.

After Jesus was baptized, just as he was coming up out of the water, the heavens opened and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and coming on him.

Jesus called his twelve disciples and gave them authority over unclean spirits so they could cast them out and heal every kind of disease and sickness.Now these are the names of the twelve apostles: first, Simon( called Peter), and Andrew his brother; James son of Zebedee and John his brother;Philip and Bartholomew; Thomas and Matthew the tax collector; James the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus;Simon the Zealot and Judas Iscariot, who betrayed him.

When morning came, he called his disciples and chose twelve of them, whom he also named apostles:Simon( whom he named Peter), and his brother Andrew; and James, John, Philip, Bartholomew,Matthew, Thomas, James the son of Alphaeus, Simon who was called the Zealot,Judas the son of James, and Judas Iscariot, who became a traitor.

And we all agree, our religion contains amazing revelation: He was revealed in the flesh, vindicated by the Spirit, seen by angels, proclaimed among Gentiles, believed on in the world, taken up in glory.

When they had entered Jerusalem, they went to the upstairs room where they were staying. Peter and John, and James, and Andrew, Philip and Thomas, Bartholomew and Matthew, James son of Alphaeus and Simon the Zealot, and Judas son of James were there.

Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit,teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

I want you to recall both the predictions foretold by the holy prophets and the commandment of the Lord and Savior through your apostles.

For the one whom God has sent speaks the words of God, for he does not give the Spirit sparingly.
