He has saved us and called us to a holy life— not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time,

I am praying for them. I am not praying for the world but for those whom you have given me, for they are yours.

The beast that you saw was, and is not, and is about to rise from the bottomless pit and go to destruction. And the dwellers on earth whose names have not been written in the book of life from the foundation of the world will marvel to see the beast, because it was and is not and is to come.

So let no one boast in men. For all things are yours,whether Paul or Apollos or Cephas or the world or life or death or the present or the future— all are yours,
