I passed on to you what I received from the Lord. On the night the Lord Jesus was handed over to his enemies, he took bread.

For I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you: The Lord Jesus, on the night he was betrayed, took bread,

Then Jesus took bread. He gave thanks and broke it. He handed it to them and said,“ This is my body. It is given for you. Every time you eat it, do this in memory of me.”In the same way, after the supper he took the cup. He said,“ This cup is the new covenant in my blood. It is poured out for you.

While they were eating, Jesus took bread. He gave thanks and broke it. He handed it to his disciples and said,“ Take it. This is my body.”Then he took a cup. He gave thanks and handed it to them. All of them drank from it.“ This is my blood of the covenant,” he said to them.“ It is poured out for many.

He gave thanks and handed it to them. He said,“ All of you drink from it.This is my blood of the covenant. It is poured out to forgive the sins of many people.

What I received I passed on to you. And it is the most important of all. Here is what it is. Christ died for our sins, just as Scripture said he would.

I passed on to you what I received from the Lord. On the night the Lord Jesus was handed over to his enemies, he took bread.When he had given thanks, he broke it. He said,“ This is my body. It is given for you. Every time you eat it, do it in memory of me.”In the same way, after supper he took the cup. He said,“ This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Every time you drink it, do it in memory of me.”

You know the directions we gave you. They were given by the authority of the Lord Jesus.

I, Paul, am writing this letter. I am an apostle. People have not sent me. No human authority has sent me. I have been sent by Jesus Christ and by God the Father. God raised Jesus from the dead.

Teach them to obey everything I have commanded you. And you can be sure that I am always with you, to the very end.”

“ What I’m about to tell you is true,” Jesus answered.“ It will happen tonight. Before the rooster crows, you will say three times that you don’t know me.”

I have taught you rules and laws, just as the Lord my God commanded me. Obey them in the land you are entering to take as your very own.

On the first day of the week we met to break bread and eat together. Paul spoke to the people. He kept on talking until midnight because he planned to leave the next day.

“ As you know, the Passover Feast is two days away. The Son of Man will be handed over to be nailed to a cross.”

Brothers and sisters, here is what I want you to know. The good news I preached does not come from human beings.No one gave it to me. No one taught it to me. Instead, I received it from Jesus Christ. He showed it to me.

It was the first day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread. The disciples came to Jesus. They asked,“ Where do you want us to prepare for you to eat the Passover meal?”
